If a bear charges at you and you have your bow in hand, do you think you would have time to put the arrow in and aim, or should I abandon the bow and use a knife to defend?
@Yellowknight888 shout, scream charge it back, put your arms above your head, if you have time, put an arrow in its nose, but this unlikely unless it's chargin at you from a great disatnce.
@Leatherwoodoutdoors Thankyou for your reply. I am a 5' 8'' 165LB male medium build in my early 40's, i am seriously considering buying a recurve bow probably a cheaper Chinese made PSE recurve bow, the draw weight choices are 40-55LBS what draw weight should i get for my first starter bow ? Should i go the lightest weight ? The legal minimum to hunt deer is 40LBS pull or draw weight in my home state.
Great shot! Don't get me wrong, but I don't like people hunting doe's... I hunt myself, but somthing just dosn't feel right when hunting doe. Great shot though.
@MsRatshooter I found out that satellite makes the broadhead now and the are not as good as they were when fred bear made them. You can find them on ebay now and them but you may have to pay a high $ for them.
I like this guy's gear. Fred Bear Super Kodiak, ... what poundage? At first because the doe 'jumped the string', it looked like the shot was high, but the pass through put the 'outie" in and excellent place! This is a very instructive video.
these guys know how to get it done. pa hunting free roaming deer and with a recurve out of a treestand through the heart is an exceptional challenge. great videos true Hunters !
nice shot she dont even know what hit her i subscribed to your channel i live in york pa and im gonna go archery hunting next year since they legalized cross bow before i couldnt cuz i had surgery on my shoulder twice

@Walter5734 I think you would be fine pulling back 45lbs on a recurve.
