If the QP had a manual, it'd be the perfect car. granted, manuals in Ferrari's and Lambos of yesteryear were high effort (i.e. before the NSX came out and when Honda showed the Italians what a truly user friendly supercars that the owners doesn't have to make excuses for are like). the QP's duoselect box is a manual gearbox essentially, so with the time and resources, one can sucessfully convert it.

stop comparing it to a drab boring 7 series! no one thinks of the 7 seriese or BMW when you say 'classy' or 'limousine' to them. Mercedes or jag perhaps which only got mentioned at the start of the video. It epitomizes 5 gear how BMW predisposed they are whereas top gear look more at mercedes which are not technically balanced to drive but they make cars with a little more substance and personality and history.

why would a torque converter be better? I've got the DSG and the gear changes are faster than ANY automatic and ANY human with a gear stick ! this is the future, automated manual, the best of both worlds.

@fullbora I rode in a car with one of those transmissions, it seemed like the transmission shifts slow, like you can see the headlights bob up and down during shifting. maybe it was a coincidence? I prefer a clutch pedal, i can adjust the firmness of each and every shift, not some computer

When I turned 16 I started working as many jobs as I could, all year round, again putting the money I made into a savings account. By 17 I got a job at a local country club, bussing tables and caddying. The guy's there tip soo much. I'm almost 18, by mid 17 I had more than enough to buy the Maserati, when I turn 18 i'll be working in the stock market.

Fifth gears big problem is that they insist on hiring former racing drivers. That only brings annoying and stupid personalities on to the screen. Top Gear uses non-racing drivers to do the talking and a racing driver (the stig) to race!

Marketing it as a limo may be a bit of a stretch. A Quattroporte is what it is. Big, luxurious, fast and sexy. If I had $120k just lying around, I know I'd get one. Actually, I'd rather have a GranTurismo (convertible?), but that's another story.

The lines, the exhaust note, the plush interior, the quattroporte is an absolutely stunning car. I had the honor of driving one a few days ago. Its just as fast as my 02 XJR, but the style and class of the maserati just won my heart. I love my Jaguar very much, but with the 2 parked next to eachother, my eyes kept drifting towards the maserati.

If you are grey haired, enjoy talking about the best year wine was harvested in Bordeaux, wear pyjamas for bed and/or admire the colour Burgundy then this car is your wet dream. Like Mercedes they cater for the more 'mature' gentleman who like simplicity and no nonsense and baulk at the thought of reading an instruction manual. i saw one of these a couple weeks back parked in a lot... call me crazy but it just looked like any luxo sedan so i'd have to disagree... a CLS or XFR has a stronger presence on the road -- but if ur one of those dudes that want to be driving a luxo sedan noone else drives this would probably be one of ur top picks unless u can afford a rolls royce

Maserati it's almost 5 years old the Rapide is a new model.... and if we talk about price!? No way... the rapide is over 190.000 euro, the Maserati under 120.... or 140 if you go for the Quattroporte GTS 4.7 ltr 440Hp
