  • scary im terified of tornados!!!

  • @lolbieberr1000 i share your sentiment

  • spectacular...the poor video quality actually makes the video even scarier to me. good stuff

  • Ok here it is, Whatever Environment Canada says is the norm is obveiously not accurate the Canadian Weather Service is over 10 years behind the USA in Weather and Tornado Forecasting, Combining that with a relatively less population compared to the USA, Most twisters go unreported and unseen, usually unseen due to the low population density. So Yes Alberta saskatchewan and Manitoba are in Tornado Alley.

  • Are we Canadians so desparate to have somebody think more nicely of us that now we just got to have better tornadoes than the US does, I think not! Canada is a cool place to live for Canadians, and I'm sure the Americans think their land is cool too, so lets all just be friends ok? I'm sure the U.S. is probably sick of hearing about how some people think of them! Heck, my Dad and half of my family are from the USA, so let's let the anti-American sentiments die a quick death folks, huh?

  • @pspboy7 Well i do agree too a point, Yes people are blaming normal everyday citizens in America of invading when in fact its the Governments causing it and it only takes one or two jerks to change the reputation of the rest, which is rediculus, even the opposite, when a few Canadians and from my cousins Experience in Ontario they say eh and aboot oot, then americans think all of canada has the same accent might as well say all of americans have a new york accent, (these are examples). not true.

  • @pspboy7 We don't say eh in Alberta if we do usually ppl moved here from a different area of canada. I have never heared it here only a couple times but found out thoes of my friends who said it moved here from ontario, plus even in Ontario they don't it very much. Its just a thing someone made up about canada in alberta we say about like they do in the states. pS this reply isn't directed at pspboy7 its just an added point i wanted to make, basically i'm agreeing with pspboy7.

  • Hey,I was wondering what VHS this is because I have it and I was wondering of the name of it.

  • WTF? Edmonton is considered part of tornado Alley. The North American tornado super highway. What would make you think we rarely get tornados. Whether you hear about them or not, it's estimated that about 1000 tornados touch down every year in the Edmonton area.

  • Edmonton has always had twisters!!

  • Not so much- never heard of them being around (though I was only 8) until after black friday. This one storm kicked off what seemed to be a monthly trend.

  • I used to live in this neighbourhood, this is 35 St and 10 Ave on the southeast part of Edmonton. Judging by the familiar houses in the video, I lived 6 houses to the left of this guy on his side of the street.

  • it's amazing to see how those multi-vortexes were all swirling around each other, and pretty cool fottage to back that up.

  • Fk you people, do some research before posting these "facts" and saying you're right.

This tornado lasted nearly 90 minutes. Never has a tornado lasted longer than 3 hours at a time!

And yes this CAN and probably will happen again sometime. Edmonton had a smaller one just 2 years after this. Edmonton doesn't get twisters? We've had several in the last 100 or so years. 87 still stands as the big one.

  • You're right! I'm sick of the U.S. thinking Canada don't have anything. They need to leave Canada alone.

  • "Never has a tornado lasted longer than 3 hours at a time!"

Ever hear of the Tri-State Tornado?

  • that was indeed a ridiculous tornado. If I Am not mistaken that was the deadliest one in the US... it's too bad we can't properly analyze what conditions lead to it.

I also have to agree that I meet many Americans who have the assumption that tornadoes only happen in the United States - why this is, or who perpetuates the idea, I don't know...

  • Was that continuous touchdown time or a massive super cell that constantly dropped successive tornadoes over a 3 hour span? I have a really hard time believing in a single 3 hour tornado event (though if it were true then holy shit, mother nature's got a little somethin' for us in her back pocket eh?).

  • Well one fact is we haven't always recorded tornadic activity. Since we have been there hasn't been one thats lasted more than 3 hrs. Beofre that there could have been. That my friend is a fact. We don't knoe for sure if there was one or wasn't one.

  • and it's not just the US and Canada that gets twisters. any part of the globe with those "ingredients" can have tornadoes popping cities and towns . Hell, I think India had some.

  • Black Friday was cool. My mom used to work at Mr Sub at West Edmonton Mall, and everyone in the mall was screaming and my mom was just calm, she had no idea that there was a tornado, just outside of the mall! When she came out of the mall, she thought there was a terrist attack

  • I live in the west end, I do not recall any damage in the west end of the city at all. All the damage was in Millwoods , the eastern and northeast parts of the city. The west end maybe got some hail at worst.

  • :( i live in edmonton and i dont wanna die from a tornado

  • dude ime 11 and i feel the same way but just think only 7 people died in this(7 people is still aloooooooooooooooottt)but it could be worse and i live in edmonton to....ps.change it to the weather network right about now....

  • Actually, it was 27.

  • no thats how many people were injured

  • "Edmonton's worst natural disaster killed 27 people, injured hundreds and caused $330 million in property damage."

That's from the Edmonton Sun, which is certainly a reliable resource. It's 27 people killed, just google it and that's what every source says.

  • It was 27 dead and something like 200 or 300 injured!

  • My family lives in Edmonton and my older siblings were alive at the time. They say they hope this wont happen again... (( im scared now, i dont like tornadoes))

  • ITs not gonna happen again, yes there are mini tornados in edmonton every summer, and no has ever died because of them, and the tornado in this video will never happen again, and besides, tornados last only a few seconds

  • are you retarded.this lasted 12 hours you fagget, and yes this is a 75% hance of happening in the next 25 years so now what do u think of that?

  • NO, everyone was just freaking out for 12 hours cause it did tons of damage, but it only lasted about 12 minutes

  • This storm started at 2:59pm and lasted until 5:40 pm when it died out just north west of evergreen so it lasted 2 hours 41 mins trust me i was in edmonton when it happened

  • this tornado killed 27 injured more than 350 people destroyed more than 300 homes and total damage costs were 616 million , lately people are saying about changing this tornado rating to a f5 tornado because people are saying it might have hit f5 winds in the refinery row area

  • Okay, I believe you

  • Also the day it happened it wasn't that hot it was 25 degrees celsius.

  • This disaster can very well happen again all you need is the hot temps humid dewpoint levels and the windshear

  • Dieing isnt fun

  • i like tornados

  • was this the black friday or is this a later tornado

  • Black Friday

  • the sky in grande prairie the night before the Edmonton tornado was violent and the thunder was amazingly loud, woke the whole house up
