well, todays cars have around 900bhp, traction control, luanch control, abs, paddle shift gear box, etc etc etc, or would you watch a car with no driver aids, up to 1400bhp, driven on real race tracks (the nurburgring for example) powersliding everywhere, with turbos, non turbos, superchargers, all racing eachother? get real, your probly some ex nascar guy who thinks its cool nowadays, anything would be cool after watching car go around in circles, sorry

some bastard will jump on me, but things were better. planes were better. there was the concorde and the huge B747 with a bar and free booze. formula 1 was amazing and the cars were better looking even. the pilots were heroes with personalities. today, except for the internet, everything sucks. all that's left is no parking signs and although there's 1000 channels on TV, it's all pure BS.

They were great days because prior to the advent of CFD and wind tunnels, designers could play a wild card and radically change the pecking order. This was, to name but two examples, the second year of turbos (Renault) and ground effect (Lotus). Perhaps it seemed as though the drivers were more "macho" with Gilles in particular not being restrained in showing what he was capable of. The fact is now the formula is a manufacturers show, the stakes are higher and by extension, the skills higher

No, let the F1 drivers of today fully utilize 21st century technology, while at the same time increasing importance on driver skill, with the banning of traction control and what not. do not hamper them with regulations unless, with saftey regulations, they prove necessary for preserving life.

Great really, I dont know what to say about your videos. This is my first time and a chance to see all my racing heroes, lauda, villeneuve the father of jacques, peterson, ruetemann, depailler and of course the legendary Mario Andretti and the Lotus 78 and 79.
