@321illusion 1) ich glaube dass die militärische stärke nur bedingt von der personalgröße abhängt und außerdem muss man um eine weltmacht zu sein gut mit der welt verbunden sein, am besten geht das übers waser also braucht man dafür zugang zu min. einem wenn nicht sogar 2 weltmeeren wie die usa heute, und diesen zugang hat die türkei nicht da die meerenge von gibralta leicht zu blockieren ist und ich glaube kaum das ihr es schaft bis nach marokko oder pakistan zu expandieren.

My brother was in Turkey and I have had some dealings with the Turks. I like the Turks and I don't really understand why the Europeans so hate the Turks. Personally I would like to see the Turks rule over the Islamic world. The trade with my country would be very good and there would be stabality across the world. As an American I support the Turks!

Yes, European colonial powers did do deals with the ottomans, but they also made deals with other European powers so your point is void there. The history between the USA and Turkey is pretty good and the Turkish people are respected in my country. I see the Turks as being a logical and reasonable people. Those are qualities that we respect. Only the Turks can calm the mess that is in Islam now.

Probably Turkey will be the "geographical pivot of history" from the middle of the 21st century onwards. In this respect I agree with his views on cylical history. Yet he neglects one point on which I consider too much that is Turkey's obligation to produce "soft power" whether she would be a great power in the future.
