it looks like you nailed the fills pretty well. but i will say this, starting at 1:24 (during the fast parts) I see you playing a hihat only on beats 1 and 3, instead of playing on all 1/4 notes, and thats cheating fella! Other than that, you play that song very well.

A blast beat is what it is. But if you employ a blast beat because you cant play the original song - it loses it cool and therefore I label it as cheating. Playing superfast 1/4's or 1/8th notes isnt easy. Some ppl will resort to playing a blast beat because it fits in the song, and is easier to play. But make no mistake, a blast beat is not the way Dave Lombardo played/plays it.

your right on bostaph on that CD. im taking playing 1/8ths or 1/4r's on the hihat at fast speeds. ppl dont want to take the time to get it down, so they only play hihat on count 1 and 3(instead of counts 1, 2, 3, 4) what you call a 'blast beat'. I seen drummers play matching 1/8ths on hihat and snare, while playing a 1/4 note pulse on bass drum. Or 1/16ths on bass drum. playing hihat only on count 1 and 3 just sucks...fuckin weak

you know lombardo and paul both blast all the time right? this song is no different. blast beats come in many different styles. thrash bands like slayer use a slow one, usually 1/16 on the hands (1/8 on snare, 1/8 on hi hat) , and 1/8 the matches the hi hat. death metal bands use all kinds of different blasts. and they are all, by no means, "fuckin weak"
