  • lol this is really cool!

  • @Hayleythejonez you are delightful :)

  • Cooooooool Beaners....:0)

  • @1jojolicious haha I love this..it really is fun!

  • I bought some of those bags a while back havent even opened the box so glad to know what to use it for. This is such a clever idea Beth one of your best.

  • @soonfully Thanks! I really liked it the second my eyes lit on tha recipe!

  • That's good :)

  • I love omelets! Did the plastic bag smell "plasticky" or leave any kind of chemical smell to the omelet?

  • @Gardeninggirl1107 Nope, not at all. And I'm super sensitize to plastic smells and tastes. I often get that with certain types (numbers) of plastic. Tupperware will often do that to me

  • I get the green giant and birdseye steamer veggie bags all the time. Cook the veggies in the microwave, then toss the package afterwards. That and a burger and fries and you got yourself a meal in about 20 minutes.

  • @Goobian oooh I have never seen that brand here

  • @CookingAndCrafting They are really good. We have the cauliflower, carrot and broccoli with cheese sauce one a lot. They even have ones with pasta but the point is to eat something that is healthy so I have only bought the pasta ones a couple of times. The ones with butter sauce is really good too.

  • hello sister, butter is never optional!! it's mandatory!!lol

  • @rozozzy bwahaha I agree :)

  • Great idea for preparing for busy mornings the night before. What a time saver! You rock, Beth!

  • @ElleEmLee Thanks! That is a fantastic idea too!

  • Thanks for Sharing this! I have got to get some of those Bags. Looks YUMMY!!!

  • @MamawCindy They are awesome! I have another dish coming up using them... found them at Walmart

  • That was really cool:)

  • @dreamer72fem I had another this morning--wonderful!!

  • Mmm you are spoiling us nummy mmmm

  • @dpostuk Thanks hehe

  • im gonna have to try that because its exhausting to try to make omelets on the stove. i always end up not being able to turn the omelete without breaking parts of it anyways lol.

  • @nay1134 Yeah, I can never really get a perfect one when I add stuff to it

  • haha that is cool! GW :D

  • @MissPonderosa Thanks :)

  • that looks AWESOME !

    youtube cheers for that!

  • @tc2010vancouver Thank you!

  • wow cool idea!

  • @darlynn12 I love this..now I can have picture perfect omelets haha

  • Your videos are always a great study break for me, thanks again for another good one :D. I don't always have time to comment but I do get around to watching most all of them. That omelette came out pretty good, if I could find those bags at a good price (maybe tomorrow), I'd definitely try it out.

  • @fezan84 I bought a new package today--I think there are ten of them in there and it was $3.36 at Walmart. It will probably be around $2.50 there, I bet. It is always way cheaper on the mainland.

  • Shut up! Where did you get those bags? I want some of them I have never seen them. DH would love this and I would have less mess to clean. WINNER WINNER chicken dinner.

I'm going to have to hunt those bags down.

    Thanks so much.

  • @Ultimatecruegirl I get them at Walmart and Safeway .. it was $3.36 but you will pay much cheaper.

  • The omelet looks good! I have used them for corn on the cob and they work great!

  • @wildheart5 yep, four minutes and you are set! :)

  • Awesome! Mmm I'm drooling big time lol

  • @Fitange It was so good! I am going to have another one tomorrow :)

  • I have never tried those bags Beth, I will have to look into them for at least the corn idea that you mentioned. Ill bet its much better than boiling it on the stove. You know me I am also always looking for ways to change things up. Thanks for sharing this one with us. HUGS xo

  • @WackaDoodleFreeZone Yeah, it only takes 4 min and you are eating corn!

  • This is so neat!

  • @Nicoledaly87 Thanks :)

  • It looks delish and I bet the kids would love to throw things into a bag and nuke it. They may eat it better. Hugs girl!

  • @imperceptibleme Yep, kids would love making this!

  • No washing up.....I love the idea!!!!!

  • @zelda1963may Exactly!! I had just the cutting board and knife to wash. If I didn't crack the eggs for ease on the video, I wouldn't have had that :)

  • I use these bags to steam vegis. I love them, I`ll have to try an omelet this weekend, Thanks.

  • @MsChopperdog Yep, they are great for the veggies. 4 min and you are eating corn on the cob

  • I tried this before...saw Paula Deen make them...but cooked on stovetop in a pot of boiling water. Delish!

  • @091754bev oh yes, I have seen the recipes for the boiling in a pot of water one

  • Thats good news about the toxins!! I usually steam veggies in a covered glass casserole. I may try the bags so I don't have so many dishes to do!!

  • @jcrefasi1 I like the results from the bags--nice stuff

  • This looks awesome! With a slice of sourdough toast and coffee.....yummmmmm

  • @yoliebean mmmm yeah that sounds good

  • so people, relax. No toxins found in these bags.

  • I have a rule of no plastic in the microwave because of the toxins it can put into the food. I am wondering if those bags are a new plastic that does not do that.

  • @DawndeeDALLAS Toxins are my favorite ingredient, though!

  • @DawndeeDALLAS I googled and found the following:

Clearly good news: None of the samples of sauce or gravy had detectable levels of either BPA or phthalates.

Products tested that contained no phthalates or BPA:

Ziploc Brand Zip 'n Steam Microwave Steam Cooking Bags

  • @CookingAndCrafting Well that is good news ...thanks for the 411 on that...

  • Oh my goodness, this is neat. Thanks for sharing, ma'am. :-)

  • @Makousen You're welcome :)

  • Forgot to tell you that I got this video in my queue - yay!

  • @ArgentineShamrock Sounds like quite a few did get it--yay indeed!

  • I'm going to get some of these bags, I like the idea of using them for corn as you do. My microwave also has nuclear power ha!, have to cut times because I end up drying/burning up food (can't stand the smell of burnt popcorn - yuk)

  • @ArgentineShamrock It makes it faster and easier--no stove going for long periods of time!

  • Wow that is a beautiful omelete Looks really good!! I think we may have to try those bags out.

  • @COOLIKEDATAZIAN Yep--do. The omelet was perfect!

  • I've cooked an omelet in the microwave on a plate before but I'm hesitant to nuke plastic. I'm just an old fart suffering from chronic paranoia.

  • @jcrefasi1 Toxins taste super good

  • @jcrefasi1 I googled and found the following:

Clearly good news: None of the samples of sauce or gravy had detectable levels of either BPA or phthalates.

Products tested that contained no phthalates or BPA:

Ziploc Brand Zip 'n Steam Microwave Steam Cooking Bags

  • how fascinating, and the end result did indeed look yummy

    :-)

  • @twish1999 It was awesome!

  • Magic! What fun for kids and you can choose the ingredients to suite each one. I've known campers to do that by popping them into a pan of boiling water; it makes it easy for everyone to have their eggs custom without eating one at a time. Nice.

  • @thizizliz Oh yeah, I bet Bain would love this. Throw things in, zap it!

  • I have not been getting any new vids in my inbox for several days now. This looks SO good!

  • @TheChattagirl Yes, I am hoping that they are fixing it slowly but surely

  • yummy

  • @nicogs97 I just had a lean cuisite spaghetti meat sauce. DELICIOUS

  • Cool.... will have to get some steam bags now!!

  • @starkrazi I LOVE these bags. I even reuse them when I have a bunch of corn to steam,

  • @angelbaby10474 who's lisa?

  • @GothyPingu Lisa is angelbaby10474..she signs her name at the end of her comments, like a lot of people do :) I like it because now I know her name and can address her by her name!

  • This one unfortunately did not come to my subscription box. Sorry, Lisa

  • @angelbaby10474 Thanks Lisa--that sucks. At least half of them are showing up

  • 4 out of five dentists recommend western ziploc omelets to their patients who chew omelets. yes, i know that's trident.

in other news... yum! i used to live near a little sandwich shop that did same by putting all ingredients in a bowl and then just tipping the microwaved results on an english muffin - you wouldnt know it hadnt been done on a pan on the stove!

  • @snarkdetriomphe Are you here all week? ;)

I have done them in a cup before and it is okay but just a little overcooked--I just have to play with the time on my microwave. It tends to run high. If it tells you to cook for 4-5 min, then you need to cook it just under 4 min on mine

  • Hey kids!!

  • @antonio30824 Hey :)

  • I've heard of this but have never done nor have I seen it done! Very cool indeed!

  • @cring768 The second I saw this, I knew I had to make it :)

  • hey kid - where's the dentyne?
