Such an intense scene, the music and the drama work perfect together. I just saw the new spaghetti western Good For Nothing and there was definitely not a shortage gun showdowns, emotion, and great music. bitly .com/xEEQu
When I was young this was the very first movie I saw at a theatre. It kept with me forever. Together with the other Leone films the best western ever made.
this video starts a bit too late. Frank walking to Harmonica in slowmotion is also great. But you're right that this is one of the strongest scenes in the history of cinema
Amazing scene!! I just saw Good For Nothing, which reminded me of the classic spaghetti western. It had an amazing original score as well! youtube. com/watch?v=gRYZNCVeZDY
@DukeSeager Rhetorical reasons? What are you, a reasonable guy? Now, THAT'S a rhetorical QUESTION. There are ONLY rhetorical QUESTIONS. What did you say? Rhetorical reasons? Well, hmm, I say: "for rhetorical commands I guess..." IT'S NOT RIGHT, LARRY! You see, Larry, you see what happens when you-... Just kidding. :d
@DukeSeager I belive either it is a mark to show riders that they are on a road and not in the middle of the desert to show them that they are on track if you understand. Or it was a entrance to a town, you know towns could disappear over a night. Maybe they settled there, built that arch to the entrance of the town. And somethin unexpected happen forced the settlers to pack up and take the town with them to the other place. It is little with wood there if you know what I mean.
@ubedajils Always correct you are, aren't you? YOU MUST BE THE FUTURE: who can't breathe, will die. That's the best quote I've ever read... and I don't read much. Yeah!
@smfreak1515 En España, decir que una escena es un "escenón" es convertirla en algo muchísimo mejor que una simple escena. Por si no había quedado claro por aquello del idioma ;)

@356butch Ahh, The old stupid comments where the meaning of the comment never was in sync with the sense and the meaning of a brilliant movie. The good old shits.
@smfreak1515 Sorry sonny. I didn't mean to strike a nerve. I saw this in the theater along with all the Clint Eastwood flicks way back when. Those were good days.
The moment I saw Brett McBain run for his daughter... The scene was quiet and the camera tracked his character running for her as he got shot, I was like, DAMN! That one scene had me hooked to the rest of the movie. Just that one scene for me gave a feeling I haven't felt for a movie in a long time. I feel like the art of cinema is almost being thrown away, in favor of CG effects. Damn shame. I tell you, if you're not watching an Indie, there's no real movie to be had, lol.
In the movie "The Quick and the Dead," in the final gunfight between Gene Hackman and Sharon Stone, they flashed back and used a scene exactly like this one. Anyone remember that?

SPOILER ALERT. wow way to ruin the heaviest scene in the movie. also, at 00:19 the harmonica is dented but at 01:24 it's not :) fucking loved this movie but look at these names: leone. morricone. fonda. bronson. robards. how could it go wrong?

In today's CGI-enhanced 180 frames per second high-def edited world, the iconic nature of such masterpiece is often ridiculed and parodied, most never able to enjoy the true elegance and aethetics required to making simple imagery intensify and create a specific mood and/or feeling. SPOILER ALERT. wow way to ruin the heaviest scene in the movie. also, at 00:19 the harmonica is dented but at 01:24 it's not :) fucking loved this movie but look at these names: leone. morricone. fonda. bronson. robards. how could it go wrong?
