  • What the hell?!?!?! this song is very awesome Master! it's that an improvise, based on G-C-D chords? :) that's the real blues!

  • For some inexplicable reason this blues mad me cry.....but hey .... its the BLUES.

  • @acaciadog1 ahh really..yes the blues can be sad :)

  • This is art in the best form! , been playing the piano for 2 years now and been playing the blues for the moment, lovely music!

  • @anotaren79 got some videos? :)

  • @freakyhead20 no, i dont think so.. I recently removed almost all videos.. But i can upload some if you want some :)

  • acan i ask a question. i just picked up piano. i know a few chords and i can jam on the c blues scale to backig tracks. ive been playin for 3 days. my issue is i cannot play the 12 bar bass with my left hand and do little soloing with my right at the same time. my left hand wants to keep same beats as my right. is this normal for a beginner? thanks for your response

  • @TheZimmy84 well the way I learned the blues...is a steady left hand..because the left hand is the engine of the song. Then I learned to improvise with the right hand but I reached that by listening to a lot of LP's / cd's to achive what I can do now..and pianolessons ofcourse..but it takes time yes..

  • When i listen to this, i feel like i am in a Saloon.

    Great job.

  • Great playing!!

But its sounds to happy for a blues in my oppinion.

Blues is more sad. This is more like boogie!

  • that's awsome : )

i'm 14 years old, and i just started a band..

we are playing rock, jazz, reggae and blues..

if i could play the blues like that the croud will go crazy, is there anything to know if i wanna play like that?

  • have contact with your audience..smile alot ..get interactive with the crowed..sometimes you can say: is everybody having a good time or just say ..come on clap your hands..there are so many things to say..good luck !! :)

    ~Eeco

  • keey : )

'nd you got any advise how to play blues like that too?

  • hmm that's hard to give advise to play blues in a sentence..with blues dont raise the tempo..have a steady left hand and keep it smooth and later you can build up the song and go nuts :) no..I just want to say..keep it steady and add your own things that you think its right..you can get better if you practise a lot and listen to a lot of blues songs that helped me too..good luck!

    ~Eeco

  • Keey : )

    thank you very much

  • If you wanna a play this good, get all the old records, listen for years then practice 26 hours a day, LOL

    G

  • I've been playing this on repeat and jammin over it on the dobro. I think we need to collaborate! :p

  • Yeah we should :) well I dont know where you live but you can come over anytime lol and jam until the sun comes up again..

    ~Eeco

  • had great fun using some of your licks here, great stuff, cheers!

    ~Eeco

  • JIH HA i'm a cowboy :P

    ~Eeco

  • Awesome man! You have the feelin' for this kind of music! Doesnt mather wich tempo or wich art of boogie or blues!

    Like Clarence Smith,Zwingenberger,or Zingg!

    Boogie on!

  • Thanks Ralph :) Blues in G is a nice scale...Im glad you like it ! :)

    ~Eeco

  • This is mad.

  • Thanks ;)

    ~Eeco

  • please can you show us a turorial showing some of the riffs you're using?

  • ik ben net begonnen met een bandje, en we willen graag reggae en blues spelen, ik bespeel de keyboard (Y)

    kev

  • hey hey thanks man :)

  • Geees! You're great!

  • thanks :D

  • The Bowld Mr F!!!

  • lol thanks :)

  • nice... i use this to jam with bluesharp in key of C. perfect!

    ty

  • I also play some harmonica and its nice to play along :) groooooovy ^^

  • nice!!!!!!!

  • I think people with stretch of a ninth find boogie hard(like me). This guy clearly can do a tength no problem

  • oh thanks for that :), If you take the centre C the highest not I can reach with the right hand is probably the key "E" after the octave..

  • yeah i can stretch that almost but I need to put my hands off the keys to do it. The easiest 10th is Bb-Db'. In the intro you do B-d, Bb-Db, A-C no problem at all.

The first and last of those 3 would be just out of reach for me, sometimes I would catch the note next to it sometimes I'd play it you see?

  • is that yor own inro or did you get it from somewhere ells?

  • well the left hand is from a intro such as barrelhouse boogie so not really a impro :) only the right hand story after the intro

  • I'm biased...Eeco not only has more talent than any one person should have, he HONORS the MASTERS of the genre. I only "know" him from "here" But I know Albert and Pete from treasured recordings. Their legacy is in GOOD hands!

  • LOVE IT !!!!! THANKS

  • Netjes

  • That is one great and beautiful blues; simple left hand and melodic right, especially the way you handle the sixths. Any chance of doing one of your lesson "slo-mo" videos on the right hand of "Blue in G?" /Roy

  • Great. Good stompin' 12 bar. More vids please.

  • Je speelt prachtig. Was dat volledig geimproviseerd?

  • yep :)

  • ja geimproviseerd :)

  • i want to play it!

  • super, great, welldone.I like this so much!

  • wow

  • just gorgeous eeco. im playing it over and over again. love that bit of stride piano at the end. how about some more? thanks simon

  • Dude you are awesome!

  • thanks dude..:D

  • Absolutely g r e a t .

  • "They call, they call me the fat man, 'cos I weeeeight 200lbs" Love that song. xD Great work Eeco, kep it up!

  • Brilliant as always! Re 'Junkers Blues' - the number is usually credited to Champion Jack Dupree. Fats Domino did a version of it with different lyrics called 'The Fat Man' which was his first hit round 1949

  • 'G' is cool, nice bottom end. My guitar is tuned to open G,so I can play along..lol.

  • Very nice mate...good to see it from above :)

  • very helpful, just announce what is going on once in awhile if you would. Many thanks

  • You mean wich chords I use or wich notes??

  • the chords would be helpful, I can tell what the chord is but the notes fly by and so I have a hard time picking up the riffs. If I am correct, you play g in the right hand with a G and C base.

Saying what is going on would help us slow learners.

I just appreciate you're doing it. Thanks

  • beautifullllll :X

  • YEAH :D, Swing it Eeco, that's the sound that get's me jumpin :)

I've also noticed, that you're playing in the same key, as I would play that base pattern, I don't know why, but it always feels better, playing that double 1 - 2 base line in G :)

Another awesome video and yet another awesome rating :), keep it swinging buddy, you got this house rockin' :) Willie

  • Hi Willie, thanks for the comment! I rather play in F and G sometimes then in C..

  • Hey buddy :), how's it cookin? :)

I know what you mean, even when playing guitar, C F & G are my favourite keys to play in, especially but also, they're the 3 most used keys in the Blues scale :)

I have 2 harmonicas, that I'll play to jam to your videos as well, especially when you're playing in C :)

I was wondering if you have tried playing a tune by "Tuts Washington, called "Junker Blues" aka Tipitina? :)

  • Hmmm..never heard of this one. I shall try if I can find this one on the internet :D, thanks..

  • Anytime buddy :), if you search here on yt, search for "Tipitina" and you should find a video titled "Tuts Tipitina", with some great footage of him performing the original version of the song, that he composed :)

I'm still waiting on the Tuts Washington album I ordered, but the store hasn't called, and it's been 2 months now, but I'll see if I can get a copy and I'll e-mail the song to you or terry :) Willie

  • Great to see a video now from above..thanks!
