  • I created this video to let you enjoy the song called 'Les Djinns' from Djuma Soundsystem. <--- song description.... How are those 2 things related, you created a video, djuma created a song. you put them together, but we had "permission" to hear the song before your video (the mutual inclusion is what's throwing me off)

  • I have been looking for this song for years..literally years! None of my friends knew the name though, so I couldn't find it! Thanks you turbots for uploading. So wheres the lawsuit link?

  • disliker just turn on your lady gaga and be proud of yourself .. do anything you want but do not come here to use dislike button.. !

  • I LOVE YOU

  • replay over and over :D

  • The guitarplayer is Svend Staal Larsen. Playing on a Martin acoustic guitar. He gets nothing. No rights, no money. The world must change!

  • Great tune. From 2:12 and forward you clearly recognize the guitar from the tune "Les Jiins" from the Attilla Engin Group.

Too bad they 'forgot' to get a written permission to use the sample.

To put it simple: If you use other peoples work in your music, you always should get a written and signed permission from all owners of rights and/or the music.

This way everyone gets paid for the final result. Only fair in my world.

  • @Niller1955 I must correct myself:

The sample comes from a piece called "Turkish Show Biz" by Atilla Engin Group

  • Made in Belgium once again... Work mode OFF, chill'n mode ON! Thanks to these guys from Kortrijk, Flanders....

  • does anyone know what the sample actually is? give me some time reference if u know

  • @JosshRocket I believe it's the looped part that starts around 2.40 and goes on 'tll approx 3.59... As far as I've heard the 10sec sample should have been looped about 7 times which is the reason for the absurd amount of cash they have to pay....

  • Do not let Per Meistrup and Atilla Engin destroy the music!!

  • op i røven med copyright.

  • @Nizzemanden

Taler om durum mand træt af livet

  • @vampiredue hej søde. hihi.

  • i think it's fair enough... /watch?v=xWxl-4CcsQo

It's very similar and I'd be pissed too if some1 stole my songs without asking or compensating..

  • @kanahzda well that's the thing, they did ask and they've been willing to compensate all along. Unfortunately the owners of the rights to the original are greedy little bastards who saw an opportunity to make a few bucks. They are being sued for using 69 seconds of the original when in fact they only used a 10 second sample which they then looped. The judge didn't understand the concept of a "loop" and so he claimed they used 69 seconds.

  • How great is it that they have been sued?

Musicians always whine about lost sales due to piracy, but they fail to see the problem when stealing themselves.

  • @KBHDollar you clearly didn't read what the case is all about. The original artist gave them permission years ago, but apparently the track was misspelled in the permission and it's all a bit vague. Djuma have never denied the artist compensation for the sample but now they are being sued for using 69 seconds of the original when they in fact just looped a 10 second sample.

  • @McNilo1 Well, since the court says they did not have permission - I guess they didn't

  • Grotesk at nogle kan have så ondt i røven over 10sec!

  • Too bad they now have been sued 100.000 €uros

There is a sample takes about 10 sec from a turkish song.

  • @vanderdan2000 can you give me a link about this lawsuit, please? I'm interested, since I uploaded this vid.. I love these guys' remix and I don't care which sample they used... They made the song to what it is, they deserve the praise!

  • @turbots google "Av! 747.183 kroner for at sample ti sekunder af en sang" and pick the first link

u can translate with google translate from danish to ??

  • Comment removed

  • @turbots

    It's in danish

Don't know weather or not you can read it though :). Otherwise googletranslate should help a bit :)

  • It won't let me put in the link for some reason...

    information . dk / 280309

  • @turbots it's in danish, politiken dot dk/kultur/musik/ECE1406987/musikmiljoeet-stoetter-dansk-dj-duo-efter-dom/

  • Comment removed

  • @turbots cphpost dot dk/culture/culture/52282-massive-fine-in-denmarks-first-ever-sampling-copyright-case.html

  • @turbots the ppl who create it also diserve some credit ,dont you think?

  • @vanderdan2000

Yes. It sucks! The problem is that the 10sec is being looped and they have to back for 69 sec.

This is ridiculous. Second mixtape culture for the win!

  • @vanderdan2000 yeah, it is weird when scumbags like Timbaland can fucking STEAL a complete Number /melody from Janne Suni and put a song in it, and then what has happened , since then ? not a fucking lot , other than the case now has been refiled in Florida. But when a Norwegian, and a Danish guy samples 10 seconds from a Turkish band, then all hell breaks loose. Oh yeah Janne Suni lost his case in Finland, that is why the case has been refiled in Florida. So it is fucking ridiculous.

  • @vanderdan2000 And lost :-(

  • @tildennis He lost in Florida ? Shit that sucks.

  • @vanderdan2000 Why is it too bad? They stole the sample so why should they not pay?

  • @vanderdan2000 stupid terrorist´s the only need the money to get more RPG´s and other rocket launchers

  • @vanderdan2000 whats the original sample i need to find it!!

  • Too bad they now have bee sued 100.000 €uros

There is a sample takes about 10 sec from a turkish song.

  • R.I.P Duma Soundsystem :( FUCK Per Meistrup and Atilla Engin!!!!!!!

  • the artits have to pay 747.183 danish koner because thay have samplet ‘Turkish Showbiz’ without the permission...

  • @ThomasBoeg

Maybe they should learn to make their own music :P

J.K. I agree that they should pay for using the sample, but the bill is a tad to big to be justified. 100k euros is kinda lot of money ...

  • Sorry to hear about that ridiculous lawsuit. I pray that the judge's armpits may be haunted by the flies of a thousand camels.

    Great track!

    Lame ass judge.

    Turkish oppotunist twat.

  • Apparently some random Turkish butthurt artist now owns the rights to this track because of a lawsuit involving a 10 second sample (in which the judge couldn't care less to understand anything about).

The fun thing is that Djuma actually had permission to use the sample, but the track was spelled wrong, so the permission to use the sample wasn't legit.

Why would you sue someone for sampling when you've given them the permission to do so in the first place? Makes no sense!

    WTF is going on?!

  • :(

  • They just got fined 105726 euro for using a 10 sec sample from an unknown artist, even though they only made 18815 euros on the track...

  • @topfluffer So IF you wanna support Djuma, DO NOT buy THIS track, because the turkish artist have received all the future royalties and rights to this track. Buy some of the other Djuma tracks!

  • this pic.. 2:14 .. whre did you find it ? I love long exposure pics of big city :) thanks for the pretty tune also

  • 38 people are either deaf or just not happy to be alive...

  • Amazing

  • 2:30 => Goose bumps!

  • Original sample of this song: Atilla Engin - Turkish show biz

  • I had been listening to this song for 3 years without knowing the name. An ex mailed me a burned CD after we split, and I was afraid of losing this song. Finally a girl used the IPhone app to find it out. I am so fucking happy, I want to cry.

  • @Ohhwaalee Happy that you like it :-)

  • @Ohhwaalee I have a suprise for you. Hear this song, all of it: Official - Jay C & Baumgartner 'Souk' (Original Mix)

  • @Ohhwaalee i too have been listening to this song for years. i listen to a ton of electronic music, and this holds up with the best. the level of production is sick and the progression is perfect, plus whatever sentimental value it holds for us, of course. cheers

  • the best mix of all time

  • I think the song fits perfectly with the images so magical

  • The best is 2:30 ;)

  • Nice :)

  • DEFRAG!

  • me like :)

  • Antonio Salieri must have felt this way when Mozart took his shitty music and fixed it turning into a masterpiece. Sorry Djuma S but 95% credit to the Danish colossus.

  • @estarita Are you talking about trentemoller?

  • 38 people live in towns and listen to justin bieber

  • @loopsterman Nah, i think 38 of the bieber clan pressed that button! hehehe.

  • great selection of pictures. Goes perfect with the apparently still life of nightime cities.

  • it's 5.30 minutes, an i think that is only for two minutes when it finished!

  • Thanks for post a good song and excellent production.

    Congratulations!

  • This song isn't music. This is masterpiece and philosophy of exist :)

  • I wish this track would go on for like an hour.. or a day, would be nice ^^

  • They now are being sued in Danish Courts and royalties payable are already frozen since 2008 by the German Label Get Physical Music awaiting the outcome of the trial.

These disgraceful con artists must pay what they deserve.

  • Just now I read it on the website from Atilla Engin. Original name: TURKISH SHOWBIZ Composed By Atilla Engin

Copyrighted and Released with the album

    MARMARIS LOVE in Denmark 1986

DJUMA SoundSystem (Lars Bjarno Jensen, Mikkas Skulstad and Frantz Vilmer Thomasen) illegally sampled/borrowed Turkish ShowBiz and unlawfully benefited from it without even crediting my name. Stealing is a criminal act and punishable by law.

  • ♥♥♥
