Hey I'm working on the flute part for class, but I can't figure out the first two notes (and it's driving me crazy!) I have no idea if I'm completely off, but I don't think so because everything else sounds great. Well, except for the part where the new sort of part is introduces (the lyrics leading up are "cuz you've got a home as long as I've got mine"). The third note on that one is giving me a bit of trouble. Any advice? You sound awesome in a fantastic song :)

blind owl always seemed to paint a visual that you could feel by floating in between the notes, while being hypnotically lulled by his voice. i feel that your flute, in place of the song's current vocals, would conceive the same feel; proffering an enjoyable creation that would be all your own

Very nice! Captures the feeling of this timeless classic. The guy sings pretty darn good--it's near impossible to get that sound of the original voice. The sound mix didn't capture the bass well here, but I'm still feelin it!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think that the greatness with Canned Heat is that they never gave up, despite everything that has happened during the last 40 years and despite that some people call them "a tribute band". Of course, unique talents like Alan Wilson can never be replaced, but I'm sure the Blind Owl would be proud to know that his band and his songs still can make live audiences boogie 38 years after his passing. Thanks for posting this great performance.
