This proves nothing, only that the can am has better traction on pavment (obviously you wont drive that on pav...) that doesnt test suspension, power (yeah it dont, a lot of power gets lost with lack of traction) and stability, thats just fun shit you can do
Match the tires on both ATV's and make sure the height of the tow strap is the same on both. The weight of the rider should be as close as possible also. If you know anything about vehicles it should be clear that there was a traction problem on the Yamaha. His tires were spinning and there was no lack of power.
oh gee really i do believe that can am has alot more weight its a porker with power even the weight and do it again or better yet dont..... go do some real trail riding let me now then how you feel after a day of riding each
the can am is way more weight and the grizzly is made to be fast as a trail four wheeler thats why the 500 pulled cuz its slower and ways more let them race and see who wins!
Grizzly's still Rule tire composition varied to much for a fair comparison you should of used identical wheels on These two Bikes for this Kind of match up
yamaha driver got his wheels spinning right off the start. This would cause him to lose traction. Can am driver eases into it and maintains traction better.
their is no really point of this unless your doing some kind of pull off but quads were designed for farm work then designed for mud and trail and racing not for pull offs but its all in what your into thats my opinion. not trying to get into a arguement im just commenting
As a grizzly owner, I know that when the front Diff is locked (as is stated in the description), the Grizzly is electronically limited due to the unsafe nature of fast driving with a fully locked diff. In a test like this, it will be bouncing off the rev limiter. This will cut power immensely. Bad set up.
the grizz rider started spinning the tires. canam didnt it was a matter of which rider had a brain when it comes to pulling on pavement . that vid is usless
@nicolasdagenai Yamaha driver has too much dumb... he shouldn't have started spinning the tires like that, when tires are spinning you don't have traction.
Да Ну... это не зависит от кубатуры я на 200 с широкими колёсами у которых хорошее сцепление с дорогой смогу сделать литрового на спортивных колёсах.... так что тут никто не выйграл, соревноваться нада по грязи :D
Can-am just have more weight, that's why Polaris and Can-Am dealers like to tell you how it beat other machines in the bulling test. In the forest they are heavy and clumsy, too big turn radius etc.
You can allways but more weight to machine when you need it but you cant take away in case when light machine is better.
If i make only bull test with my atv i choose Polaris or Can-Am ..but i wont, so i choose something else
Pull offs like this don't have anything to do with power, as long as you got a decent machine technique will beat pure horsepower, once you start spinning it don't matter how much hp you got, the dude who ain't spinning is gonna pull you super easy
I dont have much of a preference because I cant afford either atv lol but this is know different than doing it with trucks
its not all about power but power that can be put to the ground and right tires, for being on pavement having mud tires is a disadvantage so the quad with the most surface area on the ground here had the best shot
that is such a dickhead thing to do the dude on the grizzly clearly over gunned it so it started to spin and how hard do yall think it is to ull a atv that´s spinning i´ll say it´s pretty god damn easy because it has no traction!
this is not why atvs were made, the canam is large and heavier even at less ccs so it aquires a natural boost of traction on pavement, test these things on what there really made for (doing some real riding offroad in the mud and pulling) and post that. because i think thats something we would all like to see. btw, every damn thing about atvs and safety says not to ride them on pavement becuase there not made for it. get a dragster for that
Yes it is true, but people buy ATV's for off road, not pavement ridding, so the test should have been done somewhere else to see wich one is real better....
@Hondaman997 True very true Atv does mean ALL terrain, but if you're going to match them up one on one you should have the same tires and driver should swap as well, apparently the guy on the grizzly has no idea what he is doing
Simple Yamaha has a wet clutch can am doesnt, the wet clutch engages for the first few 100 rpm = loss of power... can am doesnt have that = more power to wheels...
I like how the video poster is using this unfair test to try and "prove" the Can Am is superior than the Grizzly. The Can Am has better tires, the Can Am rider took it easy on the throttle so that he wouldn't loose traction, and the Can Am is heavier.
If you want a more fair test, how about comparing the strength of Can Am's SST frame to the Grizzly's frame? There's a reason why there's a lot of info on the internet about how to modify the Can Am frame for more strength.
the atv with the most traction a combination of weight, tires per road surface will pull the other it has nothing to do with which atv is better, honda man should know that. this is a worthless video, hook up that can am up to a 3500 lb boat and see how far it gets before the belt is fried my guess is less then 2 feet. the can am has an inferior drive system as well as the hondas for that matter.
the tires had nothing to do with it, the yamaha guy started first and just jumped on the gas making his tires spin, where as the can am guy just let him get his tires spinning then eased into the pull like he knew what he was doing
@RCMaster220 What Idiot......So being on pavement means tread design has nothing to do with that pull...ok theres no point in arguing then, so the whole siping ON tires is just a myth..not really needed for traction..gotcha I'm must be dumb.
Jesus he pulled him half way around the world; I think it was time to stop a long time ago. I would've been pissed if I was the rider of the grizzly that he just kept going, Wtf.
the only reason the can am pulled the yamaha is simply because the yamaha has enough power to spin the tires and the can am doesnt which gives it more traction.
Now race em lol! The standard tranny will always bet the auto period no matter what your useing, and the heaviest will always prevail as well, and the grizzly is lighter, and auto. Like I said, now race side by side lol!
to all who think can am is the shit i got 6 tropies for u to suck on (yamaha 450 sled pulling) vs canams.artick cats .poliaes and john deer thers two meny varabels to call it on this one
Can am is an over priced piece of plastic. Iv pulled plenty of 500 to 700 Polaris can ams and yamahas out with my 01 big bear and have made it threw the same line they couldn't. May not be the fastest but bottom line on a utility id rather have torque. Moral of the story it ain't all engine its gearing. If you wanna nice pavement pussy or something for the farm or ranch go can am. But id rather have a Yamaha or honda for trails less plastic and if ya do break or scratch it I wouldn't feel as bad
Its all about traction, pulling eachother like this shows nothing, if you wanted it to be fair put same tires and weight on both fourwheelers and START THEM AT THE SAME TIME. but hey if it keeps your ego up then go for it.
This has nothing to do with torque, it's all about inertia. The Can Am started first and had the momentum, making the Yamaha have to overcome both the weight of the Can Am and itself as well as the inertia created in the direction of the Can Am. Nothing against either quad, but this isn't a fair test... Simple physics.
@kimbej2 Actually the grizz started first? are we watching the same vid? can am waited for grizz to start smoking em then he pulls out like the pussy he is. Simple physics, first to spin, loses.
@kimbej2 Also, the more torque on the 700 means that it will break its tires free first, therefore lowering the coefficient of friction as the tires spin on the pavement.
grizzlys are the shit. there the meanest quad out there and the name sounds cool. outlander...outlander....sounds like somethin from broke back mountain if you ask me. GRIZZLY 4 EVER!
@mrlonely199 yea, you can say ur BS grizzly forever crap as I walk all over you with a can-am. I like both machines, they're both fun, but look at the stats.
This is the nost ridiculous ATV test ever. Have them drive trough some mud, offroad with them. Thats how you decide which one is better. Not fucking towing each other, it's obvious the heavier one wins.. -.-
hey i was wondering I'm looking for a quad and I've found two that are in my price range a 2000 600 Yamaha grizzly or a 2006 650 can am which one do you think is the best choice?
hey i was wondering I'm looking for a quad and I've found two that are in my price range a 2000 600 Yamaha grizzly or a 2006 650 can am which one do you think is the best choice?

Can am power for all you yamafail owners. Your grizzlys are slow, and hideous. They lack in power and are horrible on gas. My Renegade 800 kills them im every aspect. I have a buddy that rides yamaha, only because he doesnt have the money for a can am. Hes a small spender in a big boys game. Hence why I am always waiting for him in the trails/mud. Can am all the way. I mean, what else is there? Haha
@McLovin6989 why are you comparing can-am's 50/50 quad with yamaha's 100/0 ... grizzly is the full out utility quad... renegade is utility and sport... you should be comparing it with the wolverine >_<.
@MixeTube dont buy a quest there under powered if you going to buy a can am buy a 2007-2011 outlander 650-800. 650's have 45hp to the wheels while the 800's have 65ish hp to the wheels. and the quest 650 has maybe 20hp if your lucky. check out my videos i own a grizzly 700,grizzly 660 and a brute force 750, used to own a can am renegade 800. grizzly's are good quads descent hp but really good suspension. brute force's are a mix between grizzly suspension and can am power. i hope i help you.
Well, the thing is, This atv is RIGHT in my max price range of 2000, I would much rather have one of these newer machiens , but their just wayyyyy over what I can afford. I currently have a suzuki 230...1986...So, an upgrade from 230 to 650, You can see why I'm not really worried about its power xD
Mainly, what I want to know about them, is are they reliable? Have any well known recurring problems? I'm not sure I'd find another 650 for a 2000 dollar price.
@duramax176 Can-an is shit, unless it's a renegade. And brute's need a better engine. Most of the brute's we had the engines couldn't handle it. Of coure if you don't go extreme like we do it should be fine. :)
@cumminsdiesel100 The 2011 650 is 60 hp now ... 800 is 71 hp. So there is only 11 hp difference between the two. Don'y know precisely what the dyno hp (to the wheels) but so BRP says there is only 11 hp difference.
@hotpocketzaregood Actually its called, pause at 26 seconds dumbfuck. Who hit the throttle first? my grizz has drug the shit out of many a canned ham.
Gota love dealer marketing. Lets wait till the grizz nails the throttle, has no traction, then start pulling. lmao
Put a 700 h o Polaris out there the u got a contest on pavment or concrete doestemt matter grizzly guys are just butt hurt

This has nothing to do with torque, it's all about inertia. The Can Am started first and had the momentum, making the Yamaha have to overcome both the weight of the Can Am and itself as well as the inertia created in the direction of the Can Am. Nothing against either quad, but this isn't a fair test... Simple physics.
kimbej2 7 months ago 51
@kimbej2 Actually the grizz started first? are we watching the same vid? can am waited for grizz to start smoking em then he pulls out like the pussy he is. Simple physics, first to spin, loses.
598BBF 6 months ago
@598BBF if you weren watching the can am was spinning too so do they both lose??
redjay95 6 months ago
@kimbej2 Looked to me like the Grizzly was spinning before the CanAm's tires even started to move.

@kamustang01: Lol, learn to read and spell before you try to flame people on YouTube retard...
kimbej2 3 months ago
@kimbej2 Also, the more torque on the 700 means that it will break its tires free first, therefore lowering the coefficient of friction as the tires spin on the pavement.

This is the nost ridiculous ATV test ever. Have them drive trough some mud, offroad with them. Thats how you decide which one is better. Not fucking towing each other, it's obvious the heavier one wins.. -.-

@prop1113 grizzly is my favorite atv, but i dont like the 2000 600cc version. you would be better of with the outlander 650.

Haha
McLovin6989 8 months ago
@McLovin6989 why are you comparing can-am's 50/50 quad with yamaha's 100/0 ... grizzly is the full out utility quad... renegade is utility and sport... you should be comparing it with the wolverine >_<.

Does anyone know anything about Bombardier quest 650, I may buy one for $2000, but I dont know much about atvs.
Any info on this machine please share =)
MixeTube 8 months ago
@MixeTube dont buy a quest there under powered if you going to buy a can am buy a 2007-2011 outlander 650-800. 650's have 45hp to the wheels while the 800's have 65ish hp to the wheels. and the quest 650 has maybe 20hp if your lucky. check out my videos i own a grizzly 700,grizzly 660 and a brute force 750, used to own a can am renegade 800. grizzly's are good quads descent hp but really good suspension. brute force's are a mix between grizzly suspension and can am power. i hope i help you.

@cumminsdiesel100
MixeTube 8 months ago
go for a used grizzly 660 there $2,000-2500 with 1,000+miles which is nothing for atv's
cumminsdiesel100 8 months ago
@cumminsdiesel100
Really? I would do that, but theres none around where i live
MixeTube 8 months ago
@MixeTube dont get a grizzly, get a brute or can am. they are way better
duramax176 8 months ago
@duramax176 Can-an is shit, unless it's a renegade. And brute's need a better engine. Most of the brute's we had the engines couldn't handle it. Of coure if you don't go extreme like we do it should be fine. :)
WaTTzas 7 months ago
@cumminsdiesel100 The 2011 650 is 60 hp now ... 800 is 71 hp. So there is only 11 hp difference between the two. Don'y know precisely what the dyno hp (to the wheels) but so BRP says there is only 11 hp difference.
luvmyctd 8 months ago
@luvmyctd my old renegade had a MRRPM 840bbk with 2nd gen cams and made 83hp to the rear wheels. i miss it but theres such thing as to much power.

@hotpocketzaregood Actually its called, pause at 26 seconds dumbfuck. Who hit the throttle first? my grizz has drug the shit out of many a canned ham.
Gota love dealer marketing. Lets wait till the grizz nails the throttle, has no traction, then start pulling. lmao
