Because there is not any real footage of alien spaceships! All the objects seen in orbit by the ISS or the Space Shuttles have all just been space debris. Every mission has left some type of debris in orbit. NASA is tracking thousands of pieces and there are still thousands that have not been cataloged yet. That is why they are describing the objects in the videos so NASA can see if it is one they know about or not.

This is great stuff. You've figured out that it's all the many little incidental details of light and sound and perspective that make things "real" to us.

My personal pet project, as a Roman history buff, is to fake some "time travel" photos by someone who's able to go back in time or get photo equipment back in time somehow. It could be done with all the finesse you bring to these fakes, and I think it would be very entertaining.

Every rocket launched has left some debris behind and NASA tries to catalog and track any many pieces as possible to avoid collisions with shuttle and the international space station.
