  • Did that man say he was a nurse?

I thought a Nurse was just the female name for a doctor =S

  • Nope, a nurse can be a man or a woman.

  • they compressed reallly DEEP

  • Cool Trivia about this segment: after the airing of this segment a dr who knew i liked rescue 9-1-1- found mark gordon and met him in person.

  • What do you mean by elderly?

    SHE'S OLD DAMNIT! HAHAHAHA

  • Do they have portable defibulators for civilians to have and if so where i can i get one?

  • they have AED's

  • that lady is lucky that there was some medical personal there

  • i was 23 when i had a heart attack also i was 8 mounts pregnant and the paramedics had to shock me 3 three times then one said shes gone but another side try one more time that's when they got a heartbeat now i have a Defibrillator god bless all the paramedics

  • my grandfather died of a heart attack in 1998, and it still hurts today. I miss him very much.

  • that sent chills up my spin

  • lol@ them de-fib through her clothes! got to love "reality" tv! oh well i love this show

  • oh they stood up

  • i hate how ppl just sit and watch the poor woman

  • i knpw so sadinit poor womenglad she made it

  • Well I know you would always help out a patient in a emergency no matter what, but those people helping out were the ones only knowing CPR...the others do not know how to do it, and if they do it incorrectly, the patient might die...

  • Why do they resuscitate for more than 4 minutes? I can't believe her mind was ok

  • They usually resuscitate for 20 minutes before they pronounce a patient dead, especially in the hospital.

They so b/c they're waiting until brain death as opposed to clinical death occurs.*

It usually takes 20-25 minutes for brain activity to stop.

*Clinical death is when the heart stops beating. Brain death is when no more brain waves are present.

One can be returned to life from clinical death, but not when activity in the brain ceases.

    Vicki

  • because the cardiac arrest symptoms will be lowered that way no mor ebrain damage if there is any already. nowadays in hospitals they use epinephrine for a jumpstart of adrenaline to the heart. In some cases as a last resort (if they have it) paramedics will inject nitric oxide into the blood stream to enlarge the the bloodflow capacity, therefore giving blood to all vital organs.

  • If she is alive today, she'd be 93

  • is she alive today

  • this happened november 1,1992 and 13 days later my grandpa died because of the same thing-heart attack

  • This happend to my uncle but I think it was on a tennis court I really miss him lots

  • i wonder why that doctor didn't respond first when the lady asked if there was a doctor present.

  • maybe the doctor wasn't in the movie room and had come from a different one

  • no because i heard shatner say that the doctor happened to be in the sasme movie theatre at the time.

  • With little details like that we have to remember that these episodes are recreations and the producers put them together with actors. When they say that the real people have returned to tell their story they mean the interview parts.

  • Actually, the real people often participate in the re-enactments. Sometimes the victim and the victim's family will be portrayed by actors, but the rescuers almost always play themselves.

  • 3:38 is the one I met in person at UofM hospitals.

  • i Lost my grandma 3 yrs ago today :(

    i miss her.

  • Unrealistic. You don't defib through clothing - duh.

  • VERY TOUCHING VIDEO!

  • tis person who puts these videos up, rocks!

  • oooyaaaa you can say that

  • @ 3:47 that's who I met in-person at UofM hospital during my check-ups, Dr. Mark Gordon.

  • i hope quincy is not that emotional with her patients...

  • I hope she is!!! That is what keeps compassionate nurses around :)

  • what are the chances you'd have a nurse a med student and a doctor in the same thearter

  • yes

  • My mom's grandma had a heart attack when my mom was a kid and they didn't have any hospitals or the 911 system i feel so sorry for my mom and her grandma died after that... i wonder how old she is??

  • The movie theature should have an AED.

    Automated

    External

    Defibrillator

  • yea our school has 3

  • You have to remember this happened in the early 90's before they had those in public places

  • Most movie theaters do. Heck if you go to Whitewater, WI, they have over 800 AED's placed around the city. It's not that big of a city either.

  • Yeah, But I was saying that back in the 1990's they didn't have things like that in public places. Today they do, where I work we have two fifty feet apart. I didn't say that movie theaters today don't

  • I wonder what they do afterwards... like do they start the movie again or give people their money back or what? I can't imagine witnessing something like that and then just sitting back down with my popcorn and watching the movie.

  • I think they either give them their money back or they give the people the option of coming back and seeing the movie on a different day

  • Probably a free ticket for the same movie.

  • Damn women, why do they always claim nothing is wrong? If a woman says she just doesn't feel right, we hook her up to a 12 lead and start runnin test for everything. If a guy says he just doesn't feel right, he might end up getting an antibiotic.

  • My grandpa does the same thing.

  • My grandfather did the same thing. He had a heart proceedure done on Tuesday. He wasn't feeling well but didn't tell the doctors, he should have. He had a massive heart attack and died at home on Thursday

  • my sincerest condolences. I lost my papa too a couple of years ago and it still hurts. email me if you want to talk at any time.

    take care

  • OH NO.

It really hurts to lose a loved one ESPECIALLY a Father.

  • My dad has those, I remember to this day (Im 26) about a time when he had one while we were driving. I was still in a carseat at the time I was about 3. It was scary I didn't know what was going on.

  • I'm sure it was.

    Well, GOD BLESS.

I already have your daddy on my prayer list.

    GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!

  • am very sorry

  • This segment is one of my favorites. Theres just something about it that catches my interest..Maybe its because life is so unpredictible and that anything can happen even in the most unusual places such as a movie theater. Rescue 911 is such an awesome show.

  • *Yall need some help?* For some reason, that phrase made me laugh..LOL (At 3:00)

  • Since I've met mark gordon I've should have made a commentary version of this segment LOL.

  • I was wondering if you had the 1st segment from this episode where a man falls 60 feet while ice climbing. If you have that one, could you put it up? Also, if it is too long, you could split it up into 2 or 3 parts like you did for Prison EMTs.

  • My mom's Daddy died when she was my age My mom was 18 He had a heart attack too

But he's in heaven I never knew him

I did before I was born He's my grandfather

  • Whoa I think She might be alittle older than my Granny Carroll

  • Another segment from a 30-mintue syndicated show I have on tape.

  • thank god, there were the nurse dr and trainee dr

  • OMG that old lady is just gorgeous, I want to hug her. And so is that medical student - what a sweetie pie

  • My grandma was nice, but luckily I don't think she ever had a heart attack! She had an angina attack whatever that means. She paased away in 1995..sad..

  • My Girlfriend's Grandmother Died The Same Time.

  • "Bowels", I love that last name!! I wonder if people poke fun at her last name...like "Did you have a bowel movement,Beatrice?" Or "Are you having bowel problems?"

Anyway, they look like 2 super Grandmas!!

  • hahahahaha, omg I think I cracked a rib laughing at this comment, thanks for the giggle xoxo

  • here's the story of how I got to meet mark gordon one day when I had one of my checkups I was introduced to mark gordon by my own dr. who cares about me and he knew I liked Rescue 911 so he brought mark gordon in to meet me and I told him I was Gregor krause and he told me he was on this episode of Rescue 911.

  • here's a good moral to this story Heart attacks can happen anywhere, classrooms such as 6th grade cpr save and this segment which happens to be in a theatre.

  • Yes, that's true. You never knew when they can happen.

  • this was the only segment I met Mark Gordon in person when I had checkups downstate
