  • Wow! Brilliant combo of audio and visuals! Award winning worthy. How'd you do that?

  • @SnafuenFrance Thank you! Well, long story short, I was just trying different effects and transitions with Cyberlink Powerdirector, trying to find things that would go well with the idea.

  • SICK VIDEO

  • This Video Remix flys with the bats of vampiric history...

  • Children, let us unite, under the one true Doctor. The one who can truly unite us all. Dr. Marten Boots!!

Oh! sorry, wrong playground. My BaaD.

Can I borrow a few cotton wool buds? Need to re-do me nails, I'm a Rimmel kinda guy.

  • @Bloody0Martyr The only Doctor I trust has a TARDIS.

  • If I were a real jerk, I'd respond with a video full of Bela Lugosi clips from Ed Wood movies. Thankfully, though, I appreciate the goth subculture too much to do that.

  • @FreeTinfoilHat ...and I'd respond by saying "PULL THE STRING!...PULL THE STRING!" in the Lugosi accent.

...or maybe a Bela Lebowski accent...man...because what's with the garlic...y'know uh...because it will not stand- this aggression will not stand, man. That Van Helsing, he's a real reactionary...

  • @FreeTinfoilHat Don't you mean Ed Wood movie? In the singular, not plural? And if you were to do as you threaten, using only clips of his appearance in it you could scarcely expect to fill a whole video.... That is the real reason your threat will forever remain an idle one.

  • @WizardOfChicamunga Haha. People on the internet are so literal. ;)

  • @residualbill You forgot a trait. The one you just demonstrated.......... Presumptuous!

  • @WizardOfChicamunga Relax...

  • @residualbill Who the fuck are you? The YouTube doctor??? Fuck you!

  • @WizardOfChicamunga I'll refer you to another doctor to take care of your aspergers.

  • yes love this :)

forgotten about it it been so long since i've heard it

  • My hands are getting worse dude, but the song will never die.

  • Absolutely Ffin brilliant!

  • the solarization makes the video, classic yt

  • Reinfields laugh lol. My Granny and I would rewind and re play that laughing at it.

  • @667766667 haha Yeah. I couldn't resist adding that to the end.

  • Darklings, were in our realm.

  • I was 9 when this track came out, so it makes me ancient and wise enough to say that you made a hell of a job with this and Bauhaus themselves would be proud to see their baby accompanied with such excellent video mastering!! I bow my head to thee!!

  • @gyqz I thank thee!!

  • @gyqz

    What he say

  • @CrimeComunismFagotry what did he say? and who is he? ...:-n

  • Well done residualbill..Great vid to a great song.

  • Great fucking video!!!!!

  • Absolutely..well done...

and I'm very familiar with this old movie and am now inspired to do something like this...

  • upon this earth as vampyre sent

from thy grave thy soul be rent

to ghastly haunt thy native place

and drink the blood of all thy race

  • Mercy, this has to be one of the greatest fan videos I have ever had the pleasure to view.

  • @LizzieBlitzkrieg Thank you LB ;)

  • Amazing. I listen to this while i work on unloading trucks and pulling pallets at Wal-mart. Great song. A pox on all who think this is a terrible song. Great pairing of this song with the video. Undeniable classics

  • wow! well put together!

  • @frankenbat Thanks!

  • Dracula is a jew and zionist!

  • i,m batman!!

  • Yes excellent work...one of the seminal tracks of the eighties and you have done it proud. The only clubs that played this track in Sydney in the early eighties were the Berlin and Stranded. Wigman

  • this is a fantastic work you have done ,great job!. sks

  • @89699sks Thank you 89699sks (is that pronounced "Bob"?) ;)

  • It may have been released in 1979, but it was a hit in the nightclub scene in Australia around 1983-4. May have been when they released the 12" single, will have to check, but I never heard it played anywhere before that and I used to go clubbing 3-4 times per week.

  • @AlfieNoakesOhHo I have to say that over here in Detroit, Michigan, USA we were hearing it at the clubs around the same time, 1982-'83. It was played mainly in the Punk and New Music clubs, not the mainstream dance clubs. I absolutely loved this song and loved to dance to it. In fact, even though I am now 49 I still love to listen to this song. It never grow old and is timeless.

  • Art comes in many forms ......This is brilliantly done

  • I especially liked the visual theme throughout that matched the "white on white translucent black capes" of the song, a critical element to the atmosphere of the soundscape. Admired the way black/white battle mirrored good/evil, carried thru in every part right to the ending sunrise. This video is a triumph worthy of the song, and should be used in film appreciation classes to teach film students. Technically this method helped masked the flaws in the original footage. A masterwork.

  • @MegaStarbucker Sir, thank you so much for your extremely thoughtful tribute on my video. It's really flattering and I very much appreciate it.

  • This track was first written in 1978 and I saw Bauhaus first perform it live at Nene College (December 1978) were they set up their equipment in a hall wereThe Pretenders were playing later that night.

About 20 of us watched the gig that night and got to know the band before they buggered off to London and fame and fortune !

Great video really captures the atmosphere of the song.

  • I hate the war going on between Peter Murphy fans and Rozz Wiliams' fans everyone needs to stop and realize no one created "goth" it was a beautiful scene and is dead now so just let it go

  • @Runnersfree it's not really dead, it's still going strong in some country's.

and dead ight be a good thing ^^

  • @Runnersfree don't worry, give it a few years... they'll both be dead, and so will anyone who cares

  • Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make.

  • Priceless.Stilll my fave.Great work man.

  • @tomterahedrob Thanks.

  • Perhaps the best appropriated video I have ever seen on YT. I am a video professional and I would be proud to have my name on this work. Nicely done. Nicely done!

  • Thank you vernaculovermelho! I really appreciate that!

  • Cool! You're welcome.

  • Very nice use of video editing to match the mood of the music - I saw Bauhaus perform this live in a dark basement venue in Manchester in the early 80s - great times!

  • Thanks man!

You saw them in a dark, gloomy basement setting. Now that's the real way to see them.

  • i think thats one of the best videos i have seen on youtube ! and what a good band they were !

  • Thanks a lot!!

Yeah very cool band. I saw them a few years back...opening for Nine Inch Nails.

They really haven't changed much except they look more dead. haha

  • хорошее видео!

  • Very good work and editing. Five stras and fav. bro!!! :-)>

  • Hey man, thanks a lot!!

  • bad ass!!! were all the clips from the same movie? what was the name of that movie?

  • Thank you.

This is all from the same movie. "Dracula" [1931 film] starring Bela Lugosi.

I thought the godfather of death would know such things. ;) haha

  • i wonder if Bauhaus would feel upstaged by your video.I like both but love yours.

  • Wow. Thanks a lot!

I actually haven't seen the original video. I didn't know they had one. I know they did one for the re-recording - or maybe a live version.

That was actually one of the reasons I made this, because I couldn't find one. I also wanted to make something for Halloween. haha

  • Huh...interestingly enough, I just discovered this song and downloaded it earlier tonight. Cool video.

  • Thanks!!

I first discovered it just a couple of years ago, if that.

It's hard to believe this song is from 1979.

This is considered by many to be, perhaps, the first "goth" song, and goth band for that matter.

I'm not a huge goth fan but I really like some of it.

    Thanks again

  • lol hahaha. Bela Lugasi was a hell of an actor, one of the legends right up there with Bogie and James Cagney

  • Yep, and Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney.

  • Very well done and very interesting video, actually amazing video. I like the harmonization between sound and image.

Happy Halloween for those who celebrate it!

  • Thanks!!!

  • Same 2 you LEGEND,aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar the ghost all around!

  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
