@jackie20ization With its fully interchangeable lens capability, manual controls and input/output options - not to mention HD-SDI, Genlock, and SMPTE time code, the XLH1s was a great tool for the working pro. In contrast, the XHA1s (1/3 the cost of the XLH1s) is a smaller form factor - lacking lens interchangeability and other advanced features, but gains a streamlined shape and lighter weight for the run and gun Videographer.

Stupid question, but with the removable lense system on the Canon XL-H1A, does that eliminate the need for a DOF adapter? or does the size of this lense make getting a DOF adapter hard or impossible?

@weaponeer ........it's not a stupid question. Looking for the answer myself. Though I've seen a lot of footage that has DOF from this camera w/o the adapter. I think it is possible to achieve it w/o an adapter, but not as good as with it.

This is an amazing camcorder, I have used the standard Canon XL1 and I will say that is an amazing camcorder, but this is just something else!
