Alright how did you get that box in the trunk? I have a 4th gen too and te trunk is not box friendly, through the back seats is only 10 inches by 32 and the trunk opening is so weird shaped its almost impossible

Should it have on chamber or 1 for each individual sub(2 total)? I want a box that will make it have loud clean bass that can be heard but with decent sound quality.

@ecko426 Okay maybe that would be a good price i didn't know that was including installation. Well for everything [subs, amp, 1/0 gauge wire and Kinetic HC800 battery, Box Materials(wood, glue, screws, paint)] it was about $900 for me. But if you're asking them to make the box and install everything i would probably pay that. And don't get a cap, they are a waste. If you need more power do the Big 3 and/or get a seperate battery for the trunk.

thanks... i think i am getting the same subs (2010 model) and amp.. does your amp ever get hot and can you hear the subs coming from a distance? i was quoted 1300 at a audio shop for everything. is it worth the price? i just want good quality subs for the money that can get loud.

@ecko426 I've never touched my amp and had it feel hot or even warm. But i can't really remember that last time i checked it. But it's a great amp and you won't regret it. And NO! that is definitely not worth the price. I bought all my stuff online and i only paid $130 each for the subs and $360 for the amp. Buy online, it's MUCH cheaper than any shop. If you buy online like i did, it's definitely worth the money. It will be loud as fuck if you build a nice box for them.

Do you have any specs on your box?, Ive got 2 type rs but the damn prefabbed box is tuned too high. Gonna be makin a new one tomarrow in garage when i pick up some mdf. Ive got plenty of room in my trunk

@paullypaully18 Its 4.7 cubes tuned to 32 hz. Good idea building a custom ported box. Pre-fabs suck. You'll be very happy.

so i got the 2 type r's like u. the box i have is wayyy to small for them and it's sealed. if i got a ported box like urs ( maybe a little smaller) and tuned it to around 33 hz, would i be able to tell a significant difference?

@dazzstavver don't worry about port width but port area. Which is the area of the opening (Hight X Width). And you should try to have 12 - 16 sqaure inches of port per cubic foot of the enclosure volume. If you go lower than 12, you could have port noise.

so i was going to go 12" high 3 inches wide and like 21.5" long box is like 3.5 cf , 32hz before port and woofer displacement sound any good also this is the largbest box i can fit in my car cheers

@FiBTL3000 Well i have no idea how big the trunk of a 2007 is but my 2001 definitely doesn't have a big trunk. That box is just crammed in there. I had to take out my backseats and cut and bend some metal just to get the box in there.

Yea my Alpine type r's really suprised me and my friends too when i finally got them hooked up right, thier lows are incredibly powerfull. Alot of people talk shit about alpine products but u'll be hard pressed to find a woofer as capable as a type r at the same price. I think ima cop a pair a of the newer version when come out thier supposed to be even better
