If you are a Rick Springfield fan, you should get his book "Late, late at night". It is a really good read. Especially because it seems like he wrote it without a ghost writer. It feels like a buddy writing to you about his life. You can hear his voice the entire time. I never made the connection between this cartoon and Rick until I read the book. This clip sure brings back memories of a time when the phrase "Saturday Morning cartoons" meant something.
This was my favorite cartoon.... Kids TV was o trippy in the 70's....the best part, is I tell my friends ' I remember when Rick Springfield was Austrailian" . (They don't believe me)
I,too, watched this TV show when it was on the ABC network.I still like the theme song. (Although,I don't like parts of the opening sequence.) Unfortuneately,I can't remember any of the songs RS sang during each episode.(Did a record [or two] of all these songs get sold from circa 1973 to circa 1976?) MOREOVER,I knew-before I saw the first episode-that the title of the TV show was related to the not-made-for-kiddies TV show "MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE".But did M;I also debut (and conclude) on ABC?
When I was a kid I didn't know Rick Springfield from a hole in the ground - and yet I liked this song. I had an old cassette recorder and I recorded this song off the TV one day and played it over and over... I always like the part where it gets all "flanged" at 0:40 - - horrible cartoon though... but a lot of them around this time were bad - thanks in large part to the kings of limited animation, Hanna/Barbera. Daaaamn themmmm!!!
Dam! Filmation had money back then, Real Talk!

I liked this show as a kid, but as I recall, it seems that Rick wasn't in every episode, or was in only briefly.

This show is related to The Brady Bunch, believe it or not. It was a spinoff of the animated The Brady Kids.

That clip of Rick hold the guitar would make a great blacklight poster. Do they still have blacklight posters.....or a I just showing my age?

Thank you, I was trying to remember this cartoon that I watched in childhood. The opening song was buried deep inside my memories.

Actually, It's Filmation. The Lou Scheimer/Norm Prescott logo appears during the end credits.

Thanks for clearing that up. Just like the end credits of "The New Adventures of Gilligan".

This show rules. Miss Tickle rules, all the songs rule, and even the fat kid who falls on his butt during every astral flight rules.
