  • супер

  • Очень Красивое Звучание!!!

  • I love the backing vocals though she may have been having an off day.

  • All I know....is that next time I have sex, this song is playing in the backround

  • Chicks singing made it awful for me.

  • песня моего детства!!!!

  • well sung

  • The best group of the world!!!!

  • Ok, I'm a huge DM fan, but I'm having a hard time liking this version. I love the studio version, but there are too many thing that turn me off on this one. The big things were the background vocals and the guitar were too loud, or at least too intrusive. I think I'll stick with my 86-98 album.

  • @pskittle488 Agree... the biggest thing is actually one of the backing vocals at 1:06, which is absolutely fucked up.

  • Maybe the best version I have ever heard of this magnificent track.

  • It's funny how they played the Zephyr Mix here instead of their original version. However, I love the Zephyr Mix just as much as the original. Anyone agree?

  • @Lifad2011 They tend to play the Zephyr Mix more often than the album version Live. Personally, I prefer the Zephyr mix.

  • fletcher tambien formo parte importante de un periodo de gran creatividad y por lo tanto se le debe respeto

  • Por que tanto rencor hacia fletcher, aquien mato?? a mi me encanta!!!

  • i wish fletch would learn to dance or stop sticking his dick in the keyboard

  • gut!!!

  • this is a real artist...not a shiny playback. Depeche mode rules! Stay devoted! And yes, depeche mode will never die!

  • Depeche will never die!

  • genial cancion !!! C:

  • fantastic

  • voice,style,karizma and everything....

  • im gonna break my head with the wall listening this song :)

  • OH FUCK THIS IS BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING ;)

  • This song gives me goosebumps.

  • this song makes me cry of happiness

  • i hate the zephir version

  • voce da paura!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember this! I had only been a DM fan for a few months when this aired. Dave sounds incredible here!

  • FUCKIN AMAZING!

  • @TheMsfitmom yah...have done so many times:)

  • His voice is so powerfull! I love DM

  • 5 people disliked this?

    Where's my crowbar?

  • Epic DM! Doesn't quite seem like the right venue to showcase the dark erotic beauty of DM. Letterman comedy then some richly sensual music with soulful sexual overtones. Quite the paradox, eh?

  • I LOVE DEPECHE MODE OH MY GOD! THIS SONG IS SO AMAZING!

  • AMAZING!

  • I adore this band:)

  • I quite liked Martin's stripped down, singles era sort of between phrases look. Glam from the waist down and the neck up :).

  • What a voice...

  • @gongal

    what a man!....

  • @gongal The voice of God!:)

  • The dignity... all of them. The might, the sadness, the epicness. Huge song, it´s a creation of worlds.

  • I should listen to him 101 times and never get enough of his amazing voice :)

  • Who are the wankers that disliked this?

  • Dave Gahan, pura sensualidad! En su máxima expresión.

  • love love love so much

  • Genial... cuando pense que no podia ser superado... escucho esta version :O grandes grandes!

  • Au plaisir de partager...

    J'adore!

  • what a great performance! love DM forever :)

  • The best Song ever.

  • listen cUBE mETALLIC

  • I love them...I'm 47 years old and went to almost all their concerts back in the day but some weird reason I never heard this song back then. I don't think it ever got any airplay on the radio.

  • the best love it

  • DM the best!

  • DM супер и навсегда!

  • je pense depuis longtemps que DM doit avoir des coeurs comme cela et cette voie de...aussi

  • В твоей комнате

    Где время застыло...

  • love this song alot, but i do not love the back-up singers

  • THX

  • I love Dave's voice...soooo damn rich and powerful!

  • The band is awesome, the back up singer is simply awesome, but what blows me away is that a show like David Letterman hires such an incompetent sound engineer! My goodness. Didn't they have time for soundcheck? The mix at the beginning of the song was horrid. It only got better at the second part. Sheesh. Thanks for putting this up on YouTube.

  • god yeah x

  • Martin in chorus lol :D

  • i never liked the female chorus on dm but those women KNOWS how to sing

  • i love him *_*

  • good drumer

  • blasphemous rumours

  • second and last lesson stephie

  • @fedezy 1975 was the year I started teaching, at Barstable School, Basildon, UK. I was Dave's art teacher for 3 years. I supported his application to art school where I believe he met up with Vince Clarke.

  • @KleenezeDon ahahah that's great! how do you remember him? i bet he was quite different from now

  • @fedezy I taught all the Gahan kids as I was at Barstable School 11 years. Dave was no different from other youngsters. He's good at what he does. It's a job.

Go check out another of my ex-students Guillermo de Llera, frontman and percussionist of Primitive Reason.

  • @KleenezeDon wow, someone mentioning Primitive Reason is really cool :)

Check out their second CD, Tips and Shortcuts, for me their best one.

  • Love you so much DM.

  • i dream to be the ears of Dave Gahan at his time to be cured by him softly sweetly

  • this show was on my 5th b-day! im 17 now but I love DM!

  • j'suis grave donf amoureuse de lui, pour moi pesonne ne légal, non persone...

  • Live version far better. Followed Dave from the beginning. Long time since I first met him back in 75

  • @KleenezeDon did you really met him??? '75 he wasn't in dm yet, how was him back in the day? very lucky you are

  • @fedezy Read up and you will see I was his art teacher when he was at school. I remember him clearly as a well balanced positive minded youngster. I find it hard to accept that he was rebellious as indicated on Wikipedia. I saw nothing of that. He was not a particularly outstanding student to start with but did enough to get an exam grade A in art.

  • @KleenezeDon thank you so much for sharing that with us

  • interesting that they choose to perform the zephyr variation rather than the original...

  • Gives me chills...though I ain't a DM-fan. " Songs Of Faith And Devotion " is one of their best albums...timeless music. No doubt...DM are one the most important bands of the last 25 years. They will surely be mentioned in the great libary of music.

  • I would kill to sing like this Guy.. awesome..

  • marvelous ending...

  • Classic Mr. Gahan....

  • yet sgain this song sends shivers down ur spine you just want to hold someone close while listening

  • I've been listening to this song for over 15 years... Still the same freshness and purity. Bands like DM and Pink Floyd are simply eternal.

  • Let again martin gore is writing the songs

  • very cool perf...

  • ok ok fine i fucked up i obiousely made a mistake but you know im only human i make mistakes and i never clame to be flawless

  • ok ok fine i fucked up i obiousely made a mistake but you know im only human i make mistakes and i never clame to be flawless

  • david es una super estrella. que gran talento tiene...

  • fun fact this songs not originaly his its a cover song of amphibiouse assult and the talented lovely Fallon Bowman ex member of the all girl metal band kittie she wrote this song do to an break up between her bf and her and all she wanted to do was isolate herself from everyone cus face it no one likes break ups no one so the guy who sings for depech mode did a cover of it cus he related to the song and put his own meaning of his version of the song ya. i do do my homework on shit .

  • @persontoohott4u WRONG! what the hell are you talking about lol

first of all Martin wrote this song.. Dave Gahan ("the guy from Depeche Mode") didn't

    cover it.

Fallon Bowman's band amphibious assault, covered the song for their debut album District Six.

  • @persontoohott4u I really hope you do it better on your school's homework =P this song was written by Martin Lee Gore and appears in the Songs of Faith and Devotion album from 1993. The cover you mention was released in 2003

    regards!

  • уххх хороша песня!

  • WOW!

Wish the sound quality was better, though...

The back vocalists are great, cool version.

  • Ora posso pure morire felice!

Einmal DM immer DM!

  • Love the arrangment (nix the backup singers tho).

  • I cannot get over just how wonderful this version is. just wonderful. wonderful.

  • First band I ever saw- 17- 1986- Black Celebration Tour, Birmingham NEC- was just an amazing night. Still have the programme. And these days live they look just bigger and better than ever.

  • That was just fantastic. Beat that for emotion. Though my views may be wrong- may even be perverted- she will hear me out and won't easily be converted- to my way of thinking, in fact she'll often disagree- but at the end of the day she will understand me (not this one I know...). The best thing about Depeche Mode is that they hit it on loads of different levels- lyrics, melodies, emotion, live. Great band.

  • Thats good but the lead singer sounds a little bit ähm..... boring.

When i hear songs from David Coverdale like Soldier of Fortune, i think he has more... power and of course David is a 4 Octave wonders but the power its just this thing.

  • These guitars in this performance are just fantastic! And these strong voices in the background. Wow!

  • nice version - saw them in 82 in cork city hall..then again in Merriweather Post Pavillion in maryland around 2000 (absolutely brilliant concert in outdoor amphitheatre in middle of a forest). talented bunch although they have lost the plot more recently imo

  • I remember this as the one of the first tracks to to go into layered drum tracks. The CD version almost bursts your speakers owing to the volume jump up which reminds me in my semility of a band called King Crimson who exploited the same idea.

  • I remember taping this and begging my father to let me stay up to watch it!

  • big, big LIKE!!!

  • the girls almost give this version a Dark Side of The Moon feeling.

  • Your favourite darkness, your favourite halflight, your favourite consciousness, your favourite slave

  • your favourite darkness, your favourite halflight, your favourite consciousness, your favourite slave

  • LOVE the girls.

  • VI AMO...

  • 12 years ago bloody hell!

  • perfect !!!

  • 12 years ago...physicaly times runs...but time running is better for good artists like DM are, as for good wines ! They are gaetting better and better. DM+LOVE forever:)

  • I like this version a lot. Plus, I think Depeche Mode physically never looked better than in this video, unfortunately it's just missing Alan. I do feel though that the last minute or so, once Dave stops singing, is where the song becomes a waste.

  • yes, maybe without that scratched guitar it could be amazing, I mean, why thety didn't put a synthesizer like in Walking on my shoes?

  • Guitar is fine in it, actually in this version there's more keyboards than guitar which makes the sound smoother. Both songs are fantastic, but this version is better IMO. If only they didn't give the back up singer a solo and Dave didn't leave out some of the lyrics than this song would be incredible. I believe though it had to be shortened for the time slot they were given and couldn't have a five minute song. The end though just really is weak though, nevertheless a fine performance.

  • I'm hanging on your words..

    living on your breath..

    :(

  • unbelievable

  • perfect....

  • your favorite smile....... your favorite slave

  • w jego pokoju czas stawal sie magia.. chwilo dlaczego nie trwalas wiecznie, dlaczego czas Cie oglupil i zabral na zawsze...

  • my Fav DM song....

  • i love DM for ever !!!!!

  • Super-puper!

  • Comment removed

  • his voice was great here

  • His voice is still fantastic

  • ok...

  • Wow bands with talent on Letterman? You don't see that anymore...

  • @deathmanual

I'm sure like me, you think DL is a loud mouth assclown, but I'd say he gets a good amount of talented bands on his show.

  • @deathmanual YES... Look for Bat for lashes performing "Daniel", oh! and by the way... I LOVE Depeche Mode :)

  • INCREÍBLE!

  • the best version live in your roomon YouTube..

  • hermoso.

  • backvocals are so strong... they added a whole new color to this song! I just love depeche mode!

  • @helennalj Potpuno se slažem s tobom. Prva Helena s kojom se slažem. Ha!

    Dođi na koncert u Zagreb!

  • Ovo jednostavno mora da se cuje uzivo! A posto Beograd uvek preskacu na svojoj turneji, put za Zagreb ili Budimpestu je vrlo moguca varijanta :)

  • Meraviglia!

  • ma qunte è bell sto video.!!

  • Dave just gets better and better as a frontman. If people just knew how difficult that is...

  • Esta canción es hermosa, gracias por subirlo¡¡¡¡

  • I love this performance and thank you to everyone who has given their interpretation of what this song means either personally to them or to Dave himself. Much better then people making the usual jibes because they have a different point of view and believe everyone should conform to their beliefs.

  • i know this has to be the hardest song for dave to perform, because it pretty much described his life during his heroin days when he was off tour. Just confined to himself in his room everyday high on drugs... its so hard to not have sympathy for this strong man once youve read up on him, a very interesting guy, with a VERY interesting story behind him. He used to be one of the hardest rockers, you name it, he did it, and now he's become a gentleman role-mode type of guy, much respect.

  • Your so right ! When I watch the older videos from DM and see them in the 'See You' days, I think that he and DM had no idea what for ride they were going to have in life. Dave sure is an interesting person.

  • as it was Martin who wrote this song, i am not sure if it is about Dave though... ;)

    anyway, i love it!

  • your exactly right lol so I dont know people are aguing thinking they know the all the facts, the fact is, martin wrote every song on faith and devotion album and none of them were written about dave lol there just a deep look inside the great mind of Martin L Gore

  • @DMDevote

Agreed, and I wonder if it's stranger having been written by Martin?

  • @DMDevote I like what you had to say. Even though you don't quite know what you are talking about. Almost, but not quite.

  • @DMDevote That's why WE love dave

  • @DMDevote

also "Barrel of a gun" it is a song which is composed to describe, to show us the problems that Dave`s had it with drugs!

Anyway, HE is the best! A special man, with a special voice!

  • @DMDevote i read a book which mentioned him emptying garbage bags infront of his mum while he was looking for his drugs. was so harrowing, so glad he turned his life around cos it would have been tragic to lose such a brilliant frontman.

  • @DMDevote I think Martin deliberately wrote a lot of songs that were "subtle" efforts to get through to Dave. "It's No Good" is a song sung BY a drug to an addict. "In My Shoes", "Clean", so many more.

  • great version !!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you watch Ultra remastered DVD, Martin denies EVER writing songs about Dave.

  • for people that never got high... this song is about being maybe in love but being somewhere -- you are helpless... help to the armchair??

your on the floor wasted and the pusher man does not fucking care... or wherever you are... no one will help you out of the hell hole you are in.

    Get it???

  • i understand.

  • Single version in my opinion is much better than album one but the concert version especially from Devotional is under range.

    Performance in Letterman also rocks.

  • always preffered the album version compared to this 'single' version.

  • RICOO!!!

  • zatopić się w namiętności..........wielbie ten kawałek. fanatyczka DM

  • VERY good performance! going thru their heads-(do we still stack up to the newer(younger) audience with brains? answer is yes ladies & gents...they do. even better songs await you :)
