Have you compare Lance's begining career with other TDF winners?

Merckx, Hinault, Coppi, Anquetil, Poulidor, Zootelmelk... were all seen as great riders at their first TDF, they were able to ITT and climb. Lance was just able to stay in gruppeto before DNF.

Yes you are right. But that makes only my point stronger, he was from his first TDF to his last TDF a contender, very different to Lance who transformed to contender with EPO and blood doping.

On the other hand, those riders have been busted on doping too so it's a bit unfair to say that lance is worse than those men only because he began winning after his 'transformation'

At 21 he was one of the youngest cyclists to win a stage in the tour de france.

In the same season, he was the UCI world and nation Road Race Champion. Hows that for an early career? And dont give me that horse $hit about how you cant compare it to the TDF. Here is a partial list World Road Race Champions who have also won the TDF:

@smithsil To win a flatland stage is never a sign to win a futur TDF ! If he had TT or climbed mountain like goats that would have been a better agreement.

Unfortunately for Lance's followers, he was an average TT and a very bad climbers, just able to ride with gruppetto : around 20mn delay in each major mountain stages of TDF !

Once a generation someone alters the way we think (MJ in B'Ball, Phelps in Swimming etc.) of what is achievable. Unfortunately these days you can never say never but he passed every test going so its close enough. The man is a hero FULL STOP. As he said "what am I on?, I'm busting my butt 6 hours a day on my bike, what you on? Go figure.

Well, in cycling it's hard to say who uses or used dope and who isn't. I just judge the cyclists on facts. I believe that someone, like Armstrong, who hasn't been tested positive on dope, is clean. Otherwise you can suspect everyone...

No it's different I believe. With the bloodpassports nobody can manipulate anymore. OK, there always will be some cheaters, but most of them will be catched.

They have to control swimming, langlaufing. Much worser there at this moment.
