@cederom Thanks cederom. Unfortunately I have approximately zero experience on how to compile the FreeBSD kernel, let alone how to cross-compile it, let alone how to build a root filesystem image for it, let alone how to cross-compile and build a root-filesystem image for it.
@labobo It's not really a "chip"; it's a design. It is supposed to be uploaded into a FPGA (a "field-programmable" integrated circuit), which makes the FPGA act like the CPU (essentially the FPGA becomes the chip) but the FPGA can still be reprogrammed into a completely other device. As for its uses, I don't know where it is used and how successful it is. Mostly probably hobby projects. It must be at least some use, because the Linux kernel and the GNU tools support it. Also, it's quite recent.
@labobo Microblaze is a SOPC (System On a Programmable Chip) microprocessor by Xilinx for use on their FPGA's. Altera also has one called the NIOS (NIOS II) processor. It basically is built out of HDL (hardware programming code) and then programmed into a FPGA. It lets you have a whole computer inside of a FPGA chip along with other hardware.
Damn wish i could do this

You sir are amazing. I can't believe you made an emulator that runs Linux in so few lines of code. Bravo! :D

interesting video, i do love c++11 :)
never heard of the MicroBlaze chip before and tried to find products that use it but failed :(
Is it failed hardware tech ?
