Rush is not given the respect they deserve, and I don't know why. I've been listening to them since the mid 70's. This is a killer song. Thanks for the video.
Technically speaking, if you rate them on musical ability and lyrical content, they are right at the top of the list with Zepplin. They lack the sex appeal Rock God status that Zep set back in the day. Rush is sooooo very underrated and really folks, emotions aside, the trio NOT only BELONGS in the Rock HOF but they should be HEADLINING IT!!!
I just went and saw RUSH for the first time last night, and I couldn't believe that I've been listening to them this long and haven't ever heard 3 of the songs that they played. I really have to get all their albums.
Hi! King Lerxst is playing a PRS. I was at this show! I thank you for posting all these amazing videos! I could be wrong, but I believe this model he is playing is a StopTail 24. It's definitely a PRS. Thanx again for posting amazing videos of Rush!
I was at this show! I was blown away by the mix, as I was about 10 rows back on the floor. King Lerxst is playing a Paul Reed Smith. I believe it is the 24 StopTail Model. I could be wrong about the model, but it is definitely a PRS. Thank you for posting these awesome Rush videos! It's truly awesome! Thanks!
Rush= FREAKING AMAZING, i dont know any band better than these guys. i love them all so much, Amazing music, Amazing lyrics. Freaking amazing Drums and Bass lines. and Freaking amazing guitar riffs, cords, etc.. Rush Forever!
@quotonj And why would you laugh out loud at Lissone2010's comment? Peart is without question the best in the world.....Buddy Rich isn't with us anymore, so Neil is #1.
@glsingle There is no "best" drummer. There isn't one drummer that can do it all. Peart may be good at the kind of drumming he does, but theres different kinds. Being the "best drummer in the world" means he can beat anyone at ANY kind of drumming, period. I personally think he's an extraordinary drummer, but the best in the world? That title goes to no single person.
I was a Rush fan back in 1984 when the Signals tour hit the road. I have seen the band five times and always am impressed with the power and fury of Rush and I never tire of it. In my highschool yearbook I am known as the 'Digital Man'.
dude im 14 and i love this song by them, and my step-dad has actully meet themand talked to them, im not sure if he played with them though i think he did. idk lol
Well from the headstock I'd say it's a PRS. Maybe something close to a McCarty or Custom 22 or 24 model. Since he's so famous and rich, he probably had it custom made, though.
@RollTheFemers -- looks like this was during his PRS days...Custom 22 or something similar I'd say. There isn't a good shot of it in the whole vid though.
@RollTheFemers DOn't listen to what everyone else says. Lerxst is playing a Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 guitar. NO!!!! It does not have a stoptail bridge!!! If it had a stoptail bridge there wouldn't be PRS's award winning tremolo system on it. That guitar currently has a piezo pickup installed(for acoustic simulation) but I'm not sure if it was installed for the Counterparts Tour. It may not have been installed until the Test For Echo or Vapor Trails Tour. By the R30 Tour he had stopped using it
@k726able One mistake I made with that description. It is not a PRS Custom 24(with a set neck) but a PRS CE(classic electric) 24. The CEs have a bolt-on neck rather than a set neck. But that is really the only major difference.
I love this bassline. Basic but it works and he makes it sound like he uses a pick but he doesn't. I was able to self teach this and it's exactly what he's playing. My all time favorite Rush song though has to be Earthshine.
This song is about a man's feminine side; the female inside taking over his masculine self. Who thinks of this stuff? Well, Rush of course! :)

Well, trying to balance the influence as it takes over. Listen closer to the lyrics. In a way, the masculinity is being overcome by the feminine side.
