The visual was very cool because I saw a line of glow in the dark material that didn't move for about 1/2 second every 3 feet or so while the bodies kept moving in a circle.
and they did about 2 minutes or more in total darkness (there was a little residual light coming from the concession stands out in the foyers).
One distinct move that I remember very well was that they were in a circle (like they are near the end here) and they smacked the butt of their rifles on the floor (like they do here @ 0:26), and then they let go of the rifle and continue walking in a circle so that they keep moving but the rifle stands suspended in a vertical position...
I was at some ceremonial gathering at one of the "arena type" places in Philadelphia a few years ago (just like the one seen here) and at some point during the presentation that I saw...the lights went out in the entire room (intentionally). It was because there was a glow in the dark strip on some part of each rifle and the drill team had glow in the dark gloves and glow in the dark "neck collars" (or something like that)...

Anybody can shoot a rifle. Only a well trained unit can drill. Why do you think the USMC dedicates an entire week of recruit training on DnC and drill evaluations?
Military forces that incorporate drill into their training matrices tend to be more professional, disciplined, and sharp looking (USMC, PLA, and several other European forces).

No offence to the armed forces of any country, but this drill doesn't seem to have a lot of traditional 'foot drill' in it, but more throwing of rifles. Does that have any significance in the traditions of the US army?

Just saw them live tonight at the Britsh Military Tournament at Earls Court. They are absolutely amazing. Even better when you see them live. The whole crowd was completely captivated. Really something very special.
