Me, my dad, and my grandfather all graduated from RTC San Diego. I graduated in 1981. I went back as an officer in charge of Recruit outfitting and food service in 1993. I was unfortunately part of the BRAC team for NTC that facilitated in shutting it down. It was sad.
thanks, Doc. Company 231, September 1971. Lost the recording long ago but still have my Anchor. Back to NTC after boot for IC "A" school then to the fleet aboard DD-825. Went to see a graduation in the 90s-was surprised that they didn't carry rifles anymore. DD-825 has a crew association and we've had 10 years of reunions. good way to keep in touch with shipmates.
I enjoyed your videos. I was just at the former NTC today, now called Liberty Station. It's interesting to see the many changes. I posted a few videos of NTC park & Liberty Station if you're interested to see how much it's all changed.
Does anybody know the name of the company who recorded the graduation videos in 1989, I graduated from company 193 and would love to see if I can purchase a copy of the graduation, since I lost mine.
i was there january 1973 company 005.BTC Marrow was my CC.first duty station on the uss talbot deg-4, uss ranger cv-61, uss yarnell cg-17.i had a good time.thanks!!
@willsworthy Awesome! We were probably in the same division at RTC. I was there from July 93 through September 93.. was sent to the East Coast onboard the USS DEWERT FFG-45.

Company 309 , August 1972 CC Chief Wright I still tell friends about his method of teaching us how to fold socks " if you roll them up and they're folded right you should see a double pussy at the end of the roll " He was a great Company commander. He always looked out for us.

Me and two of my hoodlum friends got sworn-in in Portland, Oregon in June 1965.
My friend Jim who was courier with the orders for at least 15 - 20 stunned greenhorns was told by the man who elected him and I quote "If you lose these orders you are a fucked indian" end quote.
It was ever thus. We did our duty, now its up to others to do theirs with new methods and new technologies. And fine one day in the future, they'll sound just like us.
I was there last year The barracks com. 347 was in are still there at worm island
we were next to the fence where the marines would do there running cadance.
our RCOP from Alabama mock them one mourning by having the company in formation along the fence one morning and called cadance while the Marines ran by.
Our CC got wind of it from the top and work us out all day the next day.

Thanx, Mannie1952...
I wish I'd taken more photos...
Have you seen RTC lately?
The ship and a few historic buildings are all that's left.
Kind of a shame.
Almost nothing exists from our Navy days; the ship's are sunk or sold or scrapped; the bases are closed...
heavy sigh...
