@zhlub4321 He did tape an episode of Celebrity Cooks before his death where he made several jokes about death, but was never broadcast out of respect for Crane's family. I don't know if he acted out like that during the taping, and was probably added into the film for dramatic purposes.

Of course this is Greg Kinnear as Bob Crane in the movie Auto Focus. He isn't drunk here. He normally made sexual comments like this and thought that people that got offended were uptight squares. In the movie he says “I don't smoke, I don't drink, two out of three ain't bad.”

I was a big Hogan's Heroes fan and I was able to write to both Larry Hovis (Carter) and Leon Askin (Gen. Burkhalter) before they died. I received nice letters and autographed photos from both of them. I would have liked to meet both of them in person and ask them what their take was on the Bob Crane tragedy.

Movies don't always tell the truth. Sometimes they may fabricate something to make it entertaining. The man may have a been a decent human being with some problems.

I heard bob crane did offend a woman on the set of this show, but it didn't air because he died before they showed it. Also, I don't think this portrayal is accurate because bob didn't drink in real life...
