yay nineties! thanks for uploading this. i was just listing to 'here in my bedroom' by goldfinger, another great nineties song, and thought of this and looked it up and there it is. wasn't sure if i would be able to scratch this itch. thank you :)
I read a few years ago on Wikipedia that he died in a lobster fishing accident or some shit? Hope it was just someone trolling... can't find anything about him one way or the other online :(
This band always kinda reminded me of catherines wheel. I use to have this album 'laughing gallery'. The only other song I remember off of it is 'uptight'. I remember this being the best song though.
I heard this on the radio ever so briefly. I remember I heard it once while I was driving between jail and work being out on a work pass! Those were crazy days in the 90's for me! Good song though. I only heard it once or twice and it fell off the face of the world.
Thanks for posting this video! I haven't seen it in many years and always loved the scenes of them in the suits outside. I love this song and "I Killed Meg the Prom Queen" :)
Pop Rock like Britney Spears, NSync and Backstreet Boys became the mainstream norm, making crap the norm and leaving the door open for crap like rap to become mainstream.
It sucks that this song or album did not make it big. Right? I think I am right, since my local Alternative station, 107.1 the Planet, hardly played it. ROCK AND ROLL FADED IN THE MID/LATE 1990's. Too bad.
Ruth Ruth "The Little Death" is still one of the greatest EPs ever. None of their full length albums even came close to the perfection of that first record. Raw, anthemic, fucking epic.
You ARE correct... ever after all of these years nothing comes close to the magic of that EP... there's very few bands who had a shot to sound like this, and every album is great - my favorite is "Tenderlung" - no music videos in support of it... sad.
it took me FOURTEEN YEARS to find this song. it was burned into my head (my favorite song) when i was nine or ten but being so young i didnt remember the song or band name nor any of the lyrics, just that guitar riff.
...i'm not as excited as i thought i would be when this moment would finally occur but am relieved nonetheless.
I LOVED this song when it was released back in '96 and bought the album, Laughing Gallery, after the first time I heard it. The album's just ok at times, and great at other times, depending on my mood. Today, it's great.
An Amazing band, saw them I think in 96, was hooked immediately and since.
I used to run a fanpage for them, and post flyers around town when they would come(had a ton their manager sent me). Lost touch with them, though - very sad. I was looking at their webpage, did one of the Mikes leave?
i searched hi an low far and wide just to find this cd based on this song finally found it in a pawn shop for two dollars it was just o.k nothing great but this was the best it kicks ass
Glad this is on YT. Great song from back in my day!

The Little Death isn't the first record; "Uninvited" is from the Laughing Gallery full-length, which predates the EP by a year.

Ahhhh... the Mid-90's. Kind of a last burst of energy before Soundgarden broke up, Pearl Jam began to suck and the onset of Ska music. Blech.
