I'm using my MIJ Fender '62 Reissue Telecaster through an Orange Crush R30. The distortion pedal is just the standard BOSS DS-1.

when i learn some guitar and move up to electric, i definately need to get one.

I would definitely recommend the Crush R30 as a great starter amp. It's only about $200 or so, and has enough power to be used for both practice and gigs. The fact that it sounds absolutely lovely is a nice little bonus. :D
