im 14 i learned to play this song, after i was able to play it (2 months later...) i noticed somthing about me changed......i had scabs at the end of my finger tips.......its hard guys, dont ask for a tutorial.....hahahaha
have you seen yuja wang's version of flight of the bumble bee? hers seems to be more complicated... is it because she rearranged it or is it because of her greater hand movement?
@PhenylFish -- the arrangement in this video is by Rachmaninoff, Yuja Wang's is by Cziffra. She moves her hands more because Cziffra's arrangement is in alternating octaves not single notes. Rimsky-Korsakov originally wrote the piece for orchestra as part of his opera 'The Tale of Tsar Saltan'. It's when a Swan-Bird transforms the Prince into a bee so he can fly off to see his father, the Tsar, who doesn't know he is alive, traveling away on a ship. Many arrangements exist.
Some kids are also showing off, like "Hey, I play bumblebee and Chopin for exam." and some stupid kids would answer, "Wow! Pete is very great!" I feel very funny and sarcastic when I hear.
what level is that piece? It seems like virtuoso, but I see little kids play it! Can an intermediate to late intermediate student learn this, or is it for advance, late advanced, virtuoso only? Just curious! I have always loved this piece!
This is really the best version of the flight of the bumblebees I've seen so far. When I see/heer other people playing this I always think that they are trying to play it as fast as they can. But this version is just... perfect. :)
Hi Paul I think your version is much better than Maskims .... For me, there is much more music here and a better story!! The bumblebee is usually not my favorite song, unless it is Cziffra who makes a wild improvisation or masters such as Horowitz with a personal style ... but you also have a good story and play as always flawless! ;-)
Gosh, Paul - how wonderful! Your agility is enviable - pianists of your distinction seem to have two brains - one for each hand....really enjoyed this! Thank you!
Wow someone who actually understands and plays the dynamics like an actual musician

@ReasonIsTruth Bees are OK!
It's wasps I don't like. If it was called, 'Flight of the Hornet Wasp' I think it might not be so popular :)
Anyway, phantasmal job on a tricky piece!
