  • Wow someone who actually understands and plays the dynamics like an actual musician

  • :O

  • im 14 i learned to play this song, after i was able to play it (2 months later...) i noticed somthing about me changed......i had scabs at the end of my finger tips.......its hard guys, dont ask for a tutorial.....hahahaha

  • Paul, that's awesome! Well done.

  • your room resonates the mid frequencys too much.

  • You're so relaxed for this

  • Do you have a tutorial for the flight of the bumblebee? :)

  • @MrHc9457 -- not yet, I'm about to start tutorial videos again (after a long break) this work, and related pieces, is on the to-do list.

  • @PaulBartonPiano let me know when the tutorial is out, I would love to learn this song, love your stuff keep up the good work :)

  • @MrHc9457 i made a MIDI for this song if you want it.

  • 3 people hate bees

  • @ReasonIsTruth Bees are OK!

It's wasps I don't like. If it was called, 'Flight of the Hornet Wasp' I think it might not be so popular :)

Anyway, phantasmal job on a tricky piece!

  • An excellent rendition of a great song! Thanks for the vid!

  • Mr. Barton, you are producing a really nice , crisp bee sound, ty.

  • have you seen yuja wang's version of flight of the bumble bee? hers seems to be more complicated... is it because she rearranged it or is it because of her greater hand movement?

  • @PhenylFish -- the arrangement in this video is by Rachmaninoff, Yuja Wang's is by Cziffra. She moves her hands more because Cziffra's arrangement is in alternating octaves not single notes. Rimsky-Korsakov originally wrote the piece for orchestra as part of his opera 'The Tale of Tsar Saltan'. It's when a Swan-Bird transforms the Prince into a bee so he can fly off to see his father, the Tsar, who doesn't know he is alive, traveling away on a ship. Many arrangements exist.

  • @PhenylFish

Watch Cziffra play that arrangement ;-) He's much better than Yuja

  • Reminds me of the film Shine, by the way you play it perfectly, loved to see more. SUBBED :)

  • Some kids are also showing off, like "Hey, I play bumblebee and Chopin for exam." and some stupid kids would answer, "Wow! Pete is very great!" I feel very funny and sarcastic when I hear.

  • Perfect.

  • Wow.... How long did it take you to learn this?

  • Great playing. Do you use the sustain pedal at all on this piece?

  • @brianedmunds - yes, a little bit of light pedaling.

  • 1 word 3 letters can u guess wat it is.......

    OMG

  • @jamesbond161

    That's three words.

  • @defiantBlaze -- That's four words :)

  • @PaulBartonPiano

    heh

On topic now, you are an amazing player, you are a prodigy.

    Keep up!

  • Brilliant performance, but that room needs to be padded.

  • what level is that piece? It seems like virtuoso, but I see little kids play it! Can an intermediate to late intermediate student learn this, or is it for advance, late advanced, virtuoso only? Just curious! I have always loved this piece!

  • This is really the best version of the flight of the bumblebees I've seen so far. When I see/heer other people playing this I always think that they are trying to play it as fast as they can. But this version is just... perfect. :)

  • Fantastic!

  • normal dude: THAT IS WAY EASY WATCH ME PLAY IT (he plays ten seconds of it and his fingers falls off)

    Paul: sigh

  • how much did it take u to learn this piece?? O.O

  • Wow! Perfect and clean! Standing ovation. :)

  • That's just amazing! I'm going to play one key a day until I can play it. <3

  • I say!

  • can you do a tutorial?¿

  • I thougth this song was impossible to play but thanks to you tube i feel so stupid now I saw a kid playing this song . . . .

  • @lordtzino u should watch yuja wang

  • Stunning!

  • Vous etes fabuleux!!! !On pourrais avoir "Souvenir de Paganini "de Chopin dans votre interpretation? merci encore

  • pristine. and awesome

  • pourquoi quand on te vois jouer on a le sentiment que tout est possible ?

  • Great Paul, every note fast but all there! It is always great to hear and see you play.

    Roeleke

  • SO AWESOME

  • Incredible!

I don't think I can come up with any more words. wow

    -KJ-

  • HOU !!! le vol est parfaitement imité !! et ce bourdon ne me fait pas peur ... :-)

excellente interprétation et virtuose !! toute la nature défile dans mon esprit !!

Merci Paul Barton !! et merci Maestro !!!!

    Marie K

  • BTW can you put the sheet Music up please? thx

  • Hi Paul I think your version is much better than Maskims .... For me, there is much more music here and a better story!! The bumblebee is usually not my favorite song, unless it is Cziffra who makes a wild improvisation or masters such as Horowitz with a personal style ... but you also have a good story and play as always flawless! ;-)

  • I still like Maskim Better, he plays it faster (and with no breaks) but you're stil really good, better than me for sure.

  • how paul finds the positive energy.... in a world filled with the negative...

    to celebrate such music....

as well the importance of such vibrational creatures, suggests genesis light followed sound...

  • brilliant....

  • Hello Paul,

Your technique is undescribable! I can't bring my fingers round to play something like this...

  • As always unbelievable....

  • Maravilhoso!!!!!!!!

  • In 1 minute and 10 seconds.... Excellent time!

  • That was great :D

  • Really remarkable job! You are terrific, Paul!!!

  • toujours impressionnant! merci!

  • Breathtaking! D:

  • Excellent playing

  • Terrific performance, as ever. I look forward to the tutorial.

  • Gosh, Paul - how wonderful! Your agility is enviable - pianists of your distinction seem to have two brains - one for each hand....really enjoyed this! Thank you!
