  • What are the benefits of that camshaft?

  • @Desmodromic916 a lot more top end performance.

  • would you recommend the 288 or the 268?

  • R32 15 degree V.

    Direct injection

    24V

    Bore 84.00 mm x Stroke 95.90 mm

  • if i closed my eyes, that would be a big block chevy truck. lol

  • Cool, sounds like a 2cylinder 2stroke with reso pipe. :-)

  • It sounds well lumpy with that cam, at what rpm does the power kick in?

  • What about ECU? Lots of guys have pretty agressive cams but what do they do for ECU? Or are these cars old enough that the ECU doesn't throw codes? Just strated learning about the older models.

  • In this kind of injection, there is no ECU. The CIS injection can respond to almost any modification, just like carbs, but more accurate.

  • It is still electronic injection, not some sort of mechanical system right? And how can it be adjusted?

Thanks for the info, I'm going to look into it more.

  • There is a fuel distributor that works according the air flow meter. The only electric connections are for the cold start valve, Warm up regulator.

The later versions include electric devices but it´s until the K-motronic that uses an ECU. The CIS-e have some ignition updates like knock sensor and other stuff. A 288 works wonders with k-jetronic. I used a TT 288 in my 77 golf and was amazing. Too much overlap can disturb the air flow meter.

  • its called CIS research that shit

  • is this kjet?

  • sounds brilliant man. hows the power and mpg after puttin that in?

  • Is that a Nippon Satsuma Fanny Magnet GSR you talk of? I've heard of them - they're super quick, especially when stood still!! Woaaahhhhh!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Nice bit of valve overlap

  • Sounds powerfull ! nothing new ???

i saw this vid along time want too se new vids of her jajaj !

  • i love it and I think you just sold me on a 288 cam. How do you think tha will run on CIS k-basic with an ABA block?

  • i don't wanna be a dick but ur gti sounds like my ski doo

  • its because he has a big boy cam in her man its the sound of great euro art right there

  • have the same cam but from tt its for better top end tourque

  • It's written :mk1 GTi 8v 1.8

  • im new to the vw's...what is an AFB motor?

  • ABF-

    European 2.0 16v I think its OBD2

  • i think its about a 150hp aswell stock

  • The ABF is the 2liter 16valve from the mk3 GTI, the OBD" is the 24 valve VR6 engine i think mate

  • OBDis "on board Diagnostic" its what the US congress passed to make the EFI systems in America easier and more standard. The 24v VR6 is like an AAA or something like that.

  • the vr6 is only 12v is only a 2v for cylinder 2x6=12 de vr6 24v is a r32 engine

  • there are a few vr6 in the VW stable so you should look them up instead of talking smack

  • the AAA is a 12V 2.8VR6 from golf mk3

the ABV is a 12v 2.9 VR6 from vw corrado the

    the vr6 is middle V engine because it is only 15º V the r32 is a 24v 3.2 V6 engine the V is a60º ;) do you understand?

  • the r32 is 15´ also not 60

  • @hiblahablahubla the vr6 is 15º the r 32 is 60º

  • @mcmesa R32 is a VR6 too, VW barely used a real V6, Even the TT is a VR6, don't believe the V6 badge on the R32 MK5, because it's a VR, also the V5 is a VR5

  • the golf mk4 r32 is a 3.2 V6 60º 24v 232hp

    the golf mk5 r32 is a 3.2 v6 60º 24v 250hp

    the golf mk3 vr6 is a 2.8 vr6 15º 12v 174 hp

    the corrado is a 2.9 vr6 15º 12v 190 hp

  • @mcmesa Go to google, press images, then search for 'R32 engine' and you will see a 3d picture of the engine cut through half, you can see that it's not 60 degrees, you can find pictures without intake, and guess what, 1 head, that means it's not a V engine, look for R32 head, if thats 60 degree, then you need a new pair of eyes

  • @feki122 this photo is the 3.6 v6 passat r36 engine you need a new brain stupid!!!

  • @mcmesa You need some glasses, btw, were do you get your information from? tell me, i get mine of a vw engineer which has a TT with a 3.2 litre VR6 24valve , same engine as the R32, next, i have eyes, and next, look on google and typ by images, 'r32 engine angle', you will see the specs from volkswagen ;)

  • @feki122 I am losing my time with you you these guiding for what the wikipedia says in google and this information is not correct... It is impossible that an engine is VR6 if it has the V to 60 º because VR = V Right engine and it names this way for the configuration of the cylinders (since if estubieses seeing the block of engine from above not knowing To saying if it is an engine in V or on line

  • @mcmesa I dont get my information from wikipedia, because a R32 is just a VR6, with 15 degrees, and if you wanna know, yes, volkswagen used a 60 degree V6, but not in the R32, and if you question, yes, i have seen both in my life, and yes, both are waaaaay different, and btw, the r36 is the same mate, and no, it's not a v6 either, there is no way that the angle in those engines are 60 degrees lol, look for some real v6 with 60 degrees, way different and two heads, r32, single head, strange heh

  • @feki122 And VR doesn't mean vee right, it means Vee Reihen, this way Volkswagen called it, todays VW calls there VR's V engines, why, probably because V are more popular and so more selling, they have a 'V5' and do you know, real V5 are real unstable, they will shake extremely, even that one is just a VR6 with one cylinder less, and a R32 is still a 'narrowhead', it doesnt have 60 degrees ;) and look pictures of a BFH engine, all one head, and there is just no way it's 60 degrees.

  • @mcmesa The R32 is a VR6... Not a 60 degree v6.

  • @mcmesa damn your wrong, R32 is VR6 period. search for the pictures of the engine and see for your self...sparkplugs, cylinder arrangment and such...

    images2 . rdefined . com/d/20534-2/R32_Engine_side . jpg

this doesn't look lika v6 does it, but it does say V6 on engine cover

  • @mcmesa plus its not a 60 or 15 degree V, only conrods are in 15 degree V, but pistons go straight up and down

  • ABF is a good motor to go for as it flows better than the 20vt. Both are great transplant motors.

  • hy there, that engine is a AP800 right? im from brasil, and i dont know if you know how that engine its a very sucessful betwen the car enthusiasts down in Brasil, look for saveiro turbo, or, gol turbo, there's a lot of vids whit a high tuned ap engine

    see ya

  • obviously you are using a stock mani. now go get some carbs!!! mine use to idle at 1800, cause when ever i'd hit the brakes the vacuum would cause it to stumble and die. i had guys in muscle cars giving the thumbs up all the time. it's a great sound. 288 FTW

  • This has Bosh K-Jetronic fuel inyection, no carbs.. still can adjust and set higher the idle

  • I love the early torpedo dashes!

  • what other mods/ exhaust are done to this? i like the sound of it. Is this an 8v or 16v also? So the cam/s are 288?

  • Its an 8v, yup the cam is a 288

  • stock exhaust manifold? Besides the Porting and Cam, what other mods do you have on it?

I have a JH 1.8 and want to make it sound like that beast.

  • wat type of hp wit that cam what bottem end?
