  • van halen wasn't the first to tap, he just over-used it and his playing sucks anyway. I always hated tapping, guitar or bass. If you want to use it for an occasional effect, fine, but it is just a fake "oh look what I can do" effect. Playing real bass is a million times harder than just tapping a bunch a crap notes to "look cool".

    You won't get hired "becuase you can tap" as a bass player.

  • wow. i've been looking for this video for probably about 4 years. I learned to tap from watching this video and I still tap on guitar with my middle finger over the index. Thanks a lot for posting.

  • That song he's playing is 'Toccata and Fugue in D minor' by Johan Sebastian Bach. A classical musician. The second half of the song is what he is playing.

  • The peice that he plays at the end, is accully just a small exerpt from "Toccata and Fugue in D minor" by J.S. Bach.

    Toccata and Fuge In D minor, was orginaly written for Organ, but has since been adapted and arranged for several differnt insturments and ensebles
