The graphics really don't matter much as long as we get good gameplay. I think, if they follow the same formula as the last DS, we'll be fine. Ocarina of Time has improved a LOT. Look up comparison screenshots. The textures are much higher resolution and the polys are much higher. Most of the detail can be noticed in the background. Keep in mind that this system has to basically push the graphics twice to power 3D. It isn't as simple as you think.

The thing I'm most excited about is not just the handheld, but how it looks like the 3DS is resparking the Japanese development community. The influence of the Jap devs has dwindled a little this gen due to the 360, but it looks like 3DS is resparking the fire back over in Japan :D. I know they're going to come up with some genius game design concepts around 3D.

@gaspar30 released 4 and 6 years into the PSPs lifespan respectively. As developers get used to new hardware, and how the internals are connected, they can improve performance. I'm comparing to the first PSP games released because this is the only fair way to do it. Regardless, your argument is moot since the 3DS is already pulling off effects that the PSP didn't in its entire lifetime (HDR, normal maps, light correction,...) while rendering the scene twice.

Capcom, Konami, and Nintendo are not messing around.  They had some of the best looking stuff in that sizzle reel. Ridge Racer and Dynasty Warriors by far looked the weakest, but I'll chock it up to "not ready yet" for now.
