the game has many routs in it so it isnt linear the graphics are amazing i personally love those type of graphics its a video game story doesnt make sense because it doesnt have to and the charecters are pretty cool its only easy if you dont do the sub quest dude wario is awesome and just because the system doesnt have a x in its name or the game doesnt have guns doesnt make it lack luster its more like a 7 or 8 out of 10 u need to learn how to do reviews man

When you said this game is as good as a flash site, I found myself comparing the art style in the game with Homestar Runner, and I honestly say I disagree with your statement. Compared to Homestar Runner, this has smoother and more fluid animation and looks much prettier. I'm not really saying flash sites like Homestar Runner look bad or anything, but still.

After looking at this and the KEY review. I'm under the assumption that you're not a fan of platformers. I don't understand how KEY and WLSI can be overrated games either. If anything they're completely underrated overshadowed by NSMBW, which imo is the most Overrated Mario game of all time.

you obviouslly missed the point here. The game is Easy if you just want to get trough, but it gets hard as hell and very complex if you want to nail a stage. Thats the best ballance for new and experienced players.

As for the graphics, whats not to love about it? The characters have so many animation frames, its feels very fluid and well crafted. One of the best looking 2D plataform EVER.

My girl bought this one for me fox X-Mas... and I agree with the 5/10 score. It's not as good as most websites suggested. I would have never bought the game myself, still appreciate the gesture of my gal, but it's what I expected it to be. Mediocre as hell...

I agree with this score.  Just rented this game and I was pretty disappointed. Its more of a collectathon/waggle fest than a pure platfomer. In fact, the platforming is rediculousy easy. They definitely skewed this title for 12 n under.

You didn't even start talking about the game till 2:40 minutes in, and when you DID start talking about the game, the video clips had already spoke for itself to what you said. Viewers already could tell the game was linear and simple. We want to know more, like what sets it apart from other platformers, how long is the game, name some specific difficulties you have to overcome in the game... this review needed more detail and I was still left hanging and wondering if it is good or not.

I gotta say that I'm enjoying the hell out of this game. The graphics are beautiful. Its so damn rare to get a 2D platformer where EVERYTHING is hand drawn and animates beautifully. The levels have great layouts/designs, music is cool, and the controls are top notch. I'm mean for us to get a straight up 2D platformer (and one that plays and looks this good) now a days is an absolute miracle. I have just as much fun playin something oldschool as playing something thats "cutting edge".

While I don't really agree with the number score, I can agree that I'm completely bored with this game. Now, maybe my attention span is extra short (and it tends to be), or maybe because there's so many other games to play for 360 and Ps3, but I got to the second world and never really came back. The story is straight up forgettable, and the challenges make you play the same level over and over again. Please rent this game first, you'll probably be sick of it by the end of the week.

this game in my opinion is great, this game is made for peaople who played and enjoyed 2d platforming game, and specially the WARIO LAND series the cutscenes are great and the voice acting is too.

This game for me deserves a 8.5.

Well i happen to think the graphics met their point. They succeeded in being what they set out to be.

And I am one of the great lovers of platformers so this game hit close to home. Though i think it qualifies more for wiiware.

I payed full price and that was probably my biggest complaint. (55$) for this game.

From that perspective id definetly would call it lackluster. And I heard comments like "amazing" and stuff on this game.

Its fun. and i liked the art. But amazing, no.

I simply hate visuals that have been made in the 'Flash' style. There is something malnourished and cold about them.

I can't share your enthusiasm for the recent spate of new '2D' platformers. Most of the new breed - are very lame.

Of course, I'd love brilliant new 2D games, but.. for now - I'll be playing classic retro titles to get my 2D kicks.

For once I completely disagree with you NC. I thought the game's graphics and animations were stunning, and the game was a fresh of air to the console after playing through some of the more mediocre looking Wii games. But that's your opinion. I'd at the very least give it a 7/10.

Outside of something from Vanillaware, this is the most beautifully animated 2D game I've seen in a while. Wario and the bosses have some of the most fluid animation I've ever seen in a game. I disagre with the webcomic comparison (well at leat that somebody know a very detailed webcomic) the background are pretty cool and the little details on Wario are quite enjoyable (just like Ristar) as you say it's a good rental a 7.5/10 from me.

I have to disagree about the animation. It is clean and smooth. And why is there a sudden need for story in a game such as this? It's as asinine as asking for a great and amazing story in Contra. It's not necessary. Enjoy the game for what it is and not for what you want it to be. If you want an amazing story, there are plenty of RPGs out there for you to play. Sorry, but in my opinion, it's a poor review that misses the point of what the game is about.

It's just that if story sequences are going to be shoehorned into this, they shouldn't be completely asinine and reek of cliched Saturday morning anime.  I think Mega Man 9 handled having a non-essential storyline much much better if you want something to reference.

Nah, I didn't really come into it hating it. I'll admit that I don't really care for Wario, but I do like platforming games. If anything, I expected to at least moderately enjoy it. Really though, Wario Land is just kind of boring. It's kind of like playing Mario 3 world 1 and 2 repetitiously with game genie. Yeah, there's some difficulty in meeting the random challenges, but I want to be challenged by the actual main game. Wario Land featured NONE.

Super Mario Galaxy actually did have some hard parts though. Many of the levels which featured fundamental platforming areas required some skill. The only real hard part in Wario Land was the final boss (which was a real bizarre spike in difficulty). Wario Land was a lot like bumper bowling in that it required no refinement and as long as you kept moving forward, you were destined to win. There was no need to be particular at all.
