I'm making a EVH Bumble Bee replica.

And I just want a few questions answered...

What grit sand paper should I use?

Should I sand all of the old finish off the guitar?

How many coats should I apply for each colour?

How long should I wait in-between coats?

Please help me out man!

@LOMAZ5150 knife edges? this generally refers to the pivot points on the base plate of the floyd rose where it meets the pivot posts.....hope this helps.

@KingofPho75 Correct. Floyd must be 'dive only' for D-Tuna to be operable. Otherwise the whole show will come to a halt when you drop the tuning......cheers

Great job on this guitar man! I'm about to paint my own EVH, not sure if I'll attempt a vh1 or bumblebee. In a comment from one of your vids you mention Duplicolor acrylic enamels. For the yellow on the bee I can only find Duplicolor "school bus yellow" in my area . Do you remember the shade of yellow you used on this guitar? Thanks.

@chez117 about 10. You need to wetsand inbetween. Good luck. Practice your technique on something cheap - like a lump of wood.

Dude - you got to use auto enamel (dries before the dust can get there) and wet sand between coats.

use 1500 or even 2000 grit and work SLOWLY or else you will burn through the finish......
