  • You're encouraging me. I've changed but haven't quite made it there yet.

  • well... has anybody tried the Acuspeed 24 Diet (do a google search)? I keep hearing some unbelivable talk about it and my uncle lost a lot of weight with it.

  • I watch this video when I start to go down hill with my veganism

  • Congratulation, i got nothing against your diet. I am an alkalarian . Which is a stricter form of a vegan diet, no fruits, pastas, breads. Things of that sort. I have been concerned about steaming my broccoli and cauliflower. I have a recipe where it uses those ingredients raw in a shake/soup. Like you said "i don't like cauliflower raw yet..." Yeah i guess for me it's no big deal, just steam it and eat it, over time I'll accure the taste for it. I am seeing how my taste buds are changing.

  • @asmcriminaL no fruits??? why?

  • @JCeverlasting The alkalarian diet is about balancing your blood pH, your common cold to cancer is based on your blood pH. The microforms in your body produce acid, they live in a acidic enviorment, if you eat more alkalizing foods it produces a more alkalized state in the body, these microforms can't live there. Fruit obviously has sugar, these microforms feed on sugar. That's why no fruit. There are many fruits that are alkalizing but they have sugar.

  • Congratulation!!!

  • i LOVE and respect how excited you are to be vegan!!!! i definitely wanna try the vegan route, but i needed to see a video like this to motivate me to start :) how quick or how long did it take for you to lose 50 lbs??

  • Steamed cucumber gross. That would make it way to water.

  • dude great video! I have been doing exactly what you are doing and I was laughing because Im eating all the time and losing weight and feeling better!!

  • Awesome!!! Keep up the good work! Helping our planet, animals, and ourselves with people like U! .;)

  • nice... i was vegan since i was born....

  • Comment removed

  • Standard American Diet: For those of whom who HATE to eat, but LOVE to be fat!

  • Just turned vegetarian. Maybe I'll be vegan if I can get around "no eggs no milk"... Maybe.

  • @cpmc1 milk & cheese is my problem.. but Almond milk is pretty good.. takes some getting used to because I LOVE milk.. but I also LOVE the Vanilla and Chocolate Almond milks & next shopping trip I'm going to try the vegan cheese.

  • Thank you. Great video. Greetings from GERMANY!

  • Like you, I like to steam certain foods. Dose this make THAT much of a difference?

  • @lovettodding While I'm sure cooking the hell out of food probably diminishes its nutritional potency, I've read no convincing evidence that a light steaming negatively affects food's nutritional qualities.

  • i respect you so much!

  • Hi! Ok...wow this is exciting. I'm considering doing this! I have a couple of questions. What do you use for salad dressing? Is there anything healthy that TASTES GOOD too? Also, what do you do for protein? Do you get enough? Do you have to use a protein shake supplement? I'm confused about protein! Please help! Thanks so much for the video and tips!!! It's very encouraging!

  • @azgirl777 Protein is in nearly everything. You never hear of people having a "Protein deficiency" That's because we all get it in one shape or form. Grains..seeds...nuts..even our greens like spinach. Just do some simple research and you'll find plenty of info.

  • Arizona has really cheap prices on vegetables. Other places are really high on vegetables. I used frozen. It saves money. You have your berries on hand when you need them like raspberries, blueberries. I love shakes. Some one was suggesting honey on salad. Wow. Something to think about.

I used green onions as flavoring on my food. It works really good.

Also your new pictures are awesome of you. Congratulations.

  • How are you able to get all that produce for so little??

  • you can also make a wonderful home mixed musli with those raw oats,,,and eat it with soja milk, yammy!

  • I am going to try your vegan diet challenge. This is a real challenge and we'll see how I do.I am overweight by 50 lbs How long will it take with some moderate exercise like fast walking for 30 min 3 times a week

  • I just started introducing more raw foods into my daily eating. Since it's the Spring going into the Summer, it's not that hard. Natural RAW foods are a cool treat during the hot season. However, I have one question: When it's cold, snowy, & rainy during the winter; don't you ever want something hot & soothing other than tea?

  • wow awesome

  • awesome

  • Sweeeeeeeeeet, i actually LOVE this video, i was vegan for about a month but its sooo hard at school.

  • I'm afraid I'd still be hungry. When I crave a loaded sandwich, a salad just won't do it for me. Otherwise I'd love to do this.

  • the oat meal is cooked already unless it is clearly labeled raw.

  • great video.Funny and Serious .

  • i would LOVE to live where he shops at

0.99c for almost everything he bought.. not where i'm from .. bananas here in Hamilton ON are .65/lbs .. I'm a vegan to lose weight.. I need to cook my food before I eat it..

if you like to eat.. then "EAT!" LoL ..love that part..

man, i need to go grocery shopping.. making me hungry..

  • haha i love your energy my friend. congratulations on going raw vegan . its the healthiest more economically ethically and environmentally friendly. your not killing on average 9 animals a week, and using up much fewer resources! you have everything to be proud of ! woop woop! raw veganism gives me so much energyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • you can soak the oat meal for about 20-30 minutes and add fruit like blueberries, yum!

  • hardly anything was organic but i won't push it organic is sometimes not available

  • I'm not sure how it is where you live, but where I live "organic" is just a word now :(. My government only requires that a certain amount of the food have no garbage (hormones, pesticides etc in it in order to advertise it as organic. I am not even sure how they measure that .. lol. I just buy veggies from the farmer I know not far from me, but if you're buying from the store, you may as well just buy what's on the shelf. Otherwise your just paying for a sticker. It's aweful here :(

  • I've been hearing stuff like that well I guess the only way out of it is to turn the entire fresh produce industry organic...lol..not in our lifetime. Its good you buy from local farmers I've just begun doing this

  • I am still hoping someone will fix that issue during my lifetime. As far as I'm concerned producers do not have a right to be putting hormones and chemicals in foods and selling them to unsuspecting buyers. It's disgraceful.

  • This is such a great video, very inspiring!

  • do you not eat any beans/pulses/soy etc??

    why??

  • n1 vid

see here how i lost 16 pounds in 13 days :)

    /watch?v=QkJdA1A_pOg

  • DUDE why so cheap?

  • Watch out for those Kroger "Manager's special" (I recognize that sticker)... I bought some organic baby greens that had that sticker on them, it was rotten..

  • Very inspiring. I'm working at being a vegan and doing pretty well, although I do it mainly for moral reasons. I cheat with cheese sometimes, but the occasions are getting to be fewer and farther in between. Maybe I'll try incorporating more raw into my diet down the road. Way to go and show people that it's not that hard to do. It's just a matter of allowing your taste buds to change.

  • lol youve got such a fun personality to watch

Nice to hear so real and funny and its great inspiration to a vegetarian wanting to turn vegan ^_^

  • 5:09 is actually the reaction of a healthy body to garbage food. you are one with the force now luke :D

  • Dude this is wonderful I am so excited for you. A few words of advice, if you're going to eat your grains raw, soak them over night (a.k.a sprouting, no actual sprouts grow) because this will activate their enzimes which will help your body better absorb the nurtition from them, and help you body digest them. You steam cukes, definitly remove the peele raw or cooked, same with eggplant(infact avoid them if you can) because they're from the nightshade family, look it up. Kudos to you!

  • excellent video! I've lost alot of weight on the master cleanse and eating raw foods. I haven't figured out how to give up chicken yet but I'm working on it! Yay for raw foods!

  • very inspiring. Thank you.

  • I went vegetarian after watching the documentary Earthlings. I encourage people to watch it because without knowledge you are taking part in very bad things. The next step for me is 100% raw. I went for 2 weeks and never felt so good in my life. My diet is around 85% raw right now. Green smoothies in the morning really help a lot.

  • you are my hero. i am a junk food vegan and you have inspired me

  • Thanks dude, I been setting a plan to go vegan for the next 4 mos to go vegan. You pushed me to the max. Starting tomorrow(grocery) I am going vegan until 1/1/09, and see how it treats me. Great vid.

  • Im doing raw also. I use honey on salads instead of dressing. I use blue cheese crumbles on my salad, walnuts, and I mix spinach with garden salad. The honey tastes awesome. I'm not supposed to use cheese because its dairy, but I really like blue Cheese. It is delicious. I do 2 green smoothies a day and munch on fruit of I get a craving.

  • some things though in the store where i am i dont know where u are but i had my mom try to buy me so of those large portabella mushrooms and she said that they were 6 bucks a pound.

most fruit un less we get it on sale is 3.99 a pound we hardly ever see like wat u got everything for .99c but i know what you mean im gonna try it any way way to go man thanks for your view and yes i would love to do what your doing looks like the process of your weight loss is succesful so thank you

    -alexa a

  • Hey Alexa, would like to keep in touch and let me know how you do. THanks for the comment!!

  • Alexa you should look into a farmers market or some of the small local farms in your area. They are way cheaper than a grocery store, and your food is fresh.

  • <3 Apples and PB! Where did you find such cheap food? Oh right, that was a year ago when everything wasn't over $5 :P

  • wheres your canvas/green bags?

  • have not found any yet. Still want to make my own almond milk

  • Your protein source is constricted to peanut butter. That's not a good thing.

  • Grains contain protein, even veg contain protein. Infact I just watched a video that was talking about how eating meat can not give you complete protein, all the differant amino acids etc we need to eat many not only one thing with protein many differant grains and vegetables.

  • Today i begin my life as a vegan Thanks.

  • and BTW, tried the uncooked oats as a snack. AWESOME. Thanks for the tip.

  • Glad you like them...they are still one of my favorite snacks!

  • Dude...love your video!! Been vegetarian for 6 months and contemplating the vegan shift. I used to have stomach pain EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE! I can count on 1 hand the number of stomach aches I've had in the last 6 months. Rock on with your veggies!!!

  • great video!!!!

  • how did you get such cheap produce?? ^_^

  • I go to the poor side of town. The richer side just throws away the older produce.

  • P.s. If you that oatmeal- try out "oat groats" from the health food store they are the actual oatmeal grains before they are steamed and processed into flakes. You just soak them overnight and in the morning rinse and mix with banana/strawberry/ germinated almonds drizzle of raw agave nectar and cinnamon, and it's the most satisfying raw oatmeal! Let me know if you try it! God Bless! Angel

  • I loved this vid! May I ask what kind of camera you have? I understand the feeling of eating when hungry and eating as much as you want as long as it's fresh. YUP! When I eat cooked- I always feel heavy and possibly get sick and I never feel that way when I'm raw. Just shows how fresh food is the BEST for us!

You've done an awesome job! God Bless!

    Angel

  • mmmm, asparagus is my favorite! I am so jealous that you have these manager specials at your grocery store...we don't have anything like that!

  • Sean, this is excellent! I'm so excited for you and that you're telling everyone about it.

I went vegan a year ago and i, forgive the cliche, "feel better than i ever have before." I've lost 52 pounds, over 23 inches and weigh less now than i have in 10-15 years. i changed my exercise routine as well. but adopting a vegan diet has been tremendous!!!

Keep it up!! and keep telling people about it!

  • it is crazy, but I feel better than I ever have...and it is the truth! Thanks for your story and comment!

  • uncooked oats/oatmeal stuff is sooooo good!

  • man sean is killing me at the moment.

    dam you hahahaha :)

  • Nope you are doing super yourself! Keep up the great work!

  • Great video Sean, you really have me thinking about some more changes I could make in my diet, going vegan or not, I should probably add more raw veggies and all to my diet.

  • Really great that this is working for you! Have you tried those green bag thingies for the fruits and veggies?

  • No, never heard of them...what is that?

  • Hey I have Kroger's in my town, any tips on catching a windfall of manager's specials like you?

  • Early in the morning...they start to go through the produce and find the fruit and veggies that "normal" people would not want and start to bag them up for ME.... :) good luck!

  • Excellent stuff, Sean. Five stars and favourited.

  • That's awesome, didn't realize you are vegan. I hope you continue on this path, not just as a diet to lose weight. The prices are really cheap, that's great. We don't have a Kroger's in my area. you might also consider getting organics just for "soft skinned" produce.. e.g. berries, apples, lettuce.. to help reduce toxins. Bye from a fellow vegan :)

  • Man, I'm sold on going vegan just because I'm broke haha. Nice work; sounds like you're doing great.

  • I wish the vegetables and fruits were that cheap here. At different times of the year it is more expensive I could see us spend almost $3 for one tomato but now that its spring and summer should be a little better in price. I was a vegetarine for awhile about two yrs still ate chicken and fish I may do that again once the baby is born. good ideas angie

  • OMG there is not way you can find prices like that around here. YOuare very lucky

  • mm your prepped meal right there looks real tasty (although i would add a piece of fish hehe)

anyways i'm so proud of you :-) you are inspiring so many people! it's wonderful

  • I say that because the last time I went to buy a tomato, it cost me $1.50 JUST FOR ONE! So, when I could get a bag for 99 Cents, I felt I could not go wrong. Thanks for the comment!

  • so what about people like me that don't have "manager's specials" ???

that doesn't exist where i live...

  • U r funny :) I'm the same, that other stuff starts to get grotesque. I also get bragg's cider vinegar...but where the heck are you getting produce for so cheap?!! :D

  • Krogers in Hot Springs on central ave. You can mapquest it and you can see where I go...love this internet stuff!

  • thank you so much for posting this! it really answers a lot of the confusion i had about eating raw. i took the advice you gave me previously and have cut down my meat intake to one meal a day which is usually just a small turkey or chicken sub from quiznos. next week i'll try eating only raw fruits, veggies, and oatmeal. thanks again for posting this!

  • that's really cool...I'm a meat guy myself but I've been cutting my potatoe and carbs a little bit...the only problem I have with your diet is; I don't think it's 100% healthy...it sounds great, all natural etc. However, your missing nutrients that fruits and veggies and even grains can't give you. how do you feel about it? do you take extra vitamins or something? thanks sean!

  • What nutrients do you think Sean is missing? The only vitamin that you don't get through a vegan diet is b-12 and you can get that from seaweed if you choose. Beans and grains provide fiber and protein as do the fruits and vegs.
