While I agree with you completely, it's a little misleading to say that we only gave Aboriginies the right to vote in 1973: while it is true that they specifically given the right to vote via federal referendum in 1965, most states had given them that right by 1901. Another point: while it is true that we have had few aboriginals in govt, aboriginies make up less than 1% of our population, a much lower than to the black (or hispanic) population in the USA.

Love the mans animations but I have to say that you have some valid points and opinions. When it comes to racism Australia has a lot of blood on it's hands, more then most countries.
Australia is no more racist than the United States or the British or most other nations. We have some serious social issues with aboriginies and have developed a problem with racism in some sections of our community, but the treatment of the American Indians was no different (apart from them creating of treaties that were not worth the paper they were written on). No one's history is as pretty or simple as we'd like.
Yes it's not as simple or as pretty as we like but I do still belive that some countries have (or has have) more of it then others. And pointing out that other countries has done the same (like America, wich in my opinion is much worse) doesn't mean it goes away. And personaly I belive it's worse if it's done in modern time with all the history known. But if your point was that your not alone with your history I totaly agree.

interesting vid,i do enjoy a lot of blunty's stuff,but i have noticed a certain 'distain' slowly slip into some of his work. I'm starting to think this is just a by-product of a certain level of noteriety,I have seen it over and over and over on this site ...after fame seems to come the preachy holier than thou attitude,and the smarmy remarks.

While I agree with you completely, it's a little misleading to say that we only gave Aboriginies the right to vote in 1973: while it is true that they specifically given the right to vote via federal referendum in 1965, most states had given them that right by 1901. Another point: while it is true that we have had few aboriginals in govt, aboriginies make up less than 1% of our population, a much lower than to the black (or hispanic) population in the USA.

Australia is no more racist than the United States or the British or most other nations. We have some serious social issues with aboriginies and have developed a problem with racism in some sections of our community, but the treatment of the American Indians was no different (apart from them creating of treaties that were not worth the paper they were written on). No one's history is as pretty or simple as we'd like.

And pointing out that other countries has done the same (like America, wich in my opinion is much worse) doesn't mean it goes away. And personaly I belive it's worse if it's done in modern time with all the history known. But if your point was that your not alone with your history I totaly agree.

Although from watching this video, I do agree with your points.
However, a lot of the things that you have commented on, are purely humor.
Call it misplaced humor if you will, because in a lot of cases, Blunty does use his strange sense of humor.
Anyways, that's my take.
I liked the video though, it brought up some good points, however I don't agree with all of them 100%.
