I was thinking "Lon Lon Ranch" the whole song and then the first comment I read said the exact same thing. Pretty cool acoustic snare sound. Really impressive to do something so different than most other videos on the a DS-10. :)
@ratface1987 Haha indeed. Yeah, the snare really came out well. Thanks for the fact that you think its impressive. I don't like what the mainstream does on the DS-10. Or well.... not like... I like this more XD. For that reason all my songs are different. :)
Hi, im currently working on a Korg DS-10 "Notation" tutorial and I really like this song of yours. Is it ok if I use your song for my notation? my tutorials is located here:
@findlay27: Thanks. :) I will keep up the great stuff. In fact, (and that'll answer your question too) I have 2 songs done that I need to record some time so I can share them. I consider both songs better than Spooky Forest.
@LPChip Cool, well I look forward to them, you'll come up within my subscriptions anyway so I shouldn't miss it. Personally my favourite has to be a Argumentation thus far Is Spooky Forest your favourite uploaded Korg DS-10 composition atm?
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you used the drums as guitars. I get how to make them do tones instead of percussion, but changing pitches like that? It goes through like 4 chords! Good work, man.
Its indeed a bit harder to do for percussion sounds, as you have to go a bit deeper in the menus. It helps to know what you want to accomplish before making it. If it helps you, make the pattern first in the sequencer of synth 1 so you can play and hear. Once satisfied, write down what you want so you can enter the notes in the drums part. :)
Yeah... the upper screen even has a dead pixel, which is there from the beginning even... But I recently got a new DS. A USA Cobalt blue edition (which is not available in my country unless imported) That one has no crack lol.
Also, great to hear that you like my song, and that you're thrilled to see me make full-length songs. I can make music, so for me its the question, how well can I? :D
Hey, this is excellent. I just got this Korg ds 10 game a couple of days ago and posted a song up. But it's more of a hyper DnB type of tune. This is giving me some ideas. You are quite skilled. How is it that you are able to change the notes of the drums? I notice you use a kick drum for a kick and a bass note at the same time or is that wrong? In any case, excellent stuff man. Very impressive.
Thanks, I started to figure this out :). Not only that but each note can have it's own pan position and volume. Very cool. I attempted to do a hard rock song with the Korg DS-10 I'll put up a video of it soon. Keep up the great work man :).
This is your best so far you have polished the korg ds10 with making its limitations work for you with the rich sounds you now produce making the bass almost a chord strolling well done your ds and stylus and fingers are seemless i cant tell where one starts or ends.
This is very peaceful, to a certain extent it could be Zelda worthy. Is this meant to be in 6/8 time signature? It sure sounds that way. I really like somgs in 6/8, strangely reminds me of your average Scottish Jig hehe!
No problem, thank you for replying! It's just that there is so much in the music in the world but I have a really strict appeal so there isn't that much music that I apprieciate very much, well artists I should say. I like your style, I'm more for a mix of Game Music and anime.
The reason I say anime is because they actually put lots of emotion and having the abily to change the mood of an excerpt in an instant is something that has a strange appeal to me
As I was saying about anime music and baing able to control how someone may feel. It's what you could call my 'rush' so to speak.
For example, a sad song is slow usually, with either alot of weaving, or staccato, but take that and just increase the tempo a little with a different key and you get the feeling of hope. It's hard to describe but I like it.
Its different, but it indeed seems to have certain similarities. I never saw this movie, so I certainly haven't been inspired by it. :) But its a nice coincidence I think.
Oh, no doubt. I recognized it as coincidence--you've got a melody that's entirely your own--but I noticed a similar pace and feel between the two songs. Both songs are quite nice. :)
cool. my music is waaay worse than that, of course, since i am not a musician at all. check it out:

You can have 6 sounds at the same time. 2 using synths and 4 using the drums. Note that the drums doesn't actually have to be drums ;)

Btw: can you next time use punctuation marks? it was really hard for me to read what you wrote. I'm even sure I missed a few parts.

Yes it is. :) I used only 12 of the 16 steps in the sequencer for all the patterns. :)
And thanks. :) I will.

It is a great song! It's the theme from the 1969 movie of the same name. Hear for yourself: watch?v=ZGORPUzLxtU

I like how you do unexpected styles on the Korg DS-10, and do them well. It's also cool that everything is played in song mode.
Great song!
