There has been allegations that Seabiscuit was administered horse growth hormes (HGH) and other drugs by Tom Smith and Red Pollard. Smith was actually busted for drugging a later horse and suspended for a year. I mean, Biscuit wins nothing at 2 and 3 years (when greats usually do) and then suddenly starts kicking butt under Smith - this just doesn't happen. It was observed that he looked bigger at the Anita in 1940, and he died much younger than most racers.

The artist of the song used the film as a source for her information. The movie itself, was using more symbolic standards.

War Admiral was cracked up to be this huge, hulking figure that was seemingly undefeatable; A Triple Crown winner at that, it just made the prospects of a match race between the undefeatable and the under dog even more alluring.

But in all reality, War Admiral was only 15.3 hands.

Not 18, not 17...15.3.

but my horse never racet becous the bone in the hoof (i dont know how to call it in english) is broken :S about 1 year we can start over, and you want to see how he looks like? look at war admiral bady en man o'war head put them together and you have my horse, ohwja just give him another coller: black with white and with little brown spots under de black and white ;)

when they said that War Admiral was 18hh i think they met it as a reflection of the horses personallity. War Admiral was small, yes but he was big in heart and stride, i think that is what they are referring too. And the came from the back reference might come from the fact that the biscut often came from the back or middle of the pack to win by many strides
