WHAT HAPPENS IF HEAD OF THE BABY IS TO BIG TO EXIT?? I realize hospitals tend to tell everyone that during a birth to expediate the birth and do a C-sec, but does this happen in home child births? My wife tried the "kinda" natural why in the hospital with no EPIDURAL or anything and she refused it from the Doctors.. She was in LABOR for 12 hours.. She was miserable in pain, then the next morning we allow the DOCS to do what they had to do.. Which of coarse was a C-sec.
@MegaDonjuan007 12 hours is not a long time to labor. Labor can last days but hospitals don't let it. My water was broken for 55 hours before my first was born. You definitely need to be prepared for days of labor and having coping techniques practiced ahead of time.
It is highly unlikely to have a baby too big to exit. If you are lying on your back or semiseated you may have a pelvis that is being restricted from opening and because of the moms position the baby can't fit
Why are hospitals so quick to perform C-sections? Human beings have existed for a long time. I've heard around 32% of women in industrial nations are getting C-sections. True? And if so Why? Seems a bit excessive if you ask me. :-/
@doggirl1715 I dunno if it mattered or not to drizzle water on her back, but i would spray my hot cum on her back. Mmmmhh. All my spraying would be such a mess on her back, and floor, just everywhere cause i'm such a powerfull sprayer. Whew.
PS...I have a new granddaughter coming soon, so I will be sharing this and a few others with her as she's already quite frightened. I held my grandson's mom's leg when he was born!! Sorry for the lengthy posts!
quite positive! It's all the FEAR & not knowing what to expect that sets women up to have anything less than a positive experience. It's also for many MDs scheduling, that many C's are performed. I had a C-section my first birth & was very fortunate to have my 2nd birth VBAC. Military hospital did the VBAC since they didn't fear being sued, which would not have happened in any other facility. Thanks for posting and sharing your special family birth!!
Thanks for showing your wonderfully positive birthing experience so that many women can see that it isn't always the screaming and clenching and horror story that so many women have shared down thru the years. I always tell pregnant women NOT to listen to people's horror stories and that labor is quite intense. It was cute that your daughter was mimicking you doing a little moaning & I'm sure since this was her first experience of pregnancy & birth (aside from her own) her own births will be.
I would love to have a home water birth, but hubby won't be home for the birth. So I'm hoping with the next. Did you have any issues with support? I am the only one that wants it and everybody else, husband included, goes "No, don't do that" or they say just in case. And no matter how much evidence I show them I feel judged...
@iamapaininthebut Many women get the same reaction from partners and family. If you can get your husband to watch "The Business of Being Born" Film it may help. What people don't understand is the "just in case" argument doesn't actually make sense when you look at the studies about safety in birth. When it comes to mortality rates for moms and babies home birth is just as safe. BUT in hospital your risk of life changing interventions like c-section are many times higher.
@YourBirthCoach This pregnancy he won't be able to watch the film before the birth. He's over seas... I watched "The Business of Being Born" and that i what started my extensive research. I told hubby if I have an unpleasant experience in the hospital our second will be Home Birth
@iamapaininthebut I say set yourself for success the 1st time. There is no snese in having a bad 1st birth experience and then planning something better for the second. Plan for the best experience for the 1st. Your 1st birth experience will impact any future births. If you end up with a c-section or bad episiotomy you may have issues for a lifetime. Don't do that to yourself if you can avoid it. You are the one who needs to get this baby out of your body. You Choose.
You are so strong. Half the home-birth videos I'm seeing the women are wailing out in pain and screaming, you kept calm, collected, and I even saw laughter and smiles! You are so strong and brave. Congrats on you're new little bundle!
This was so awesome to see ^^ You did such a good job and well done to your lovely husband! :D Such wonderful support you had and a relaxed environment! :) Your daughter was adorable and it was so cute she hopped in with you. :) My son has just turned 2 and I can't believe how fast the time has gone... thanks for posting this :)
@doggirl1715 That's a good question. I hadn't asked him to do it and don't know that I needed it. I was so focused internally that I really don't remember if it helped. I did appreciate his full focus and love on me though so having something loving to do was a great thing.
@YourBirthCoach There was a book out years ago by a French Obstetrician called "Birth Without Violence' his name was Frederick Leboyer-his views were about natural childbirth-your video reminded me of him and his book
just beautiful im so amazed and have this huge connection as i was also in labour at the same time same day same year in queensland australia i never new i would find my one of the 33000 birthing godesses that we all have in common when its our special time so glad i found this video thank you melissa.
@claire63001 I will definitely have water available again. I really enjoyed being in water. I don't think you can plan these things that much though. It all depends on how I feel when I am in labor. I used the water during my first labor but things slowed down. When it came time to push with my first there was no thought of moving into the water. I just got in the position that felt best (on all fours) and pushed. So I will say yes, I intend on having another water birth but we will see.
it is really wonderful to see how caring your partner is in this!
