I used to be skinny and if you wanna get ripped 1st u gotta eat all the time and lift the heavier weights so you get bigger, then when your finally at a big size then you can balance your diet and tone your muscles with lighter weights and more repetitions and sets.
ok right best thing i can suggest is eat about 1000-2000 calories more a day then you do now,work out hard on like compresion training rather then isolated training it works more muscles and change the work out every day so it gives your muscles a day or two to heal properly and then re rip and bulk out more.dont forget to do your legs also so many people focus on upper body and end up with skinny legs and big arms which makes you look funny in the end lol ;) keep up the good work

1 protein bar a day isn't going to support you muscle gaining process at all. You need to have at least 5-6 high protein meals every day. Muscles need a constant supply of protein because the body cannot store protein very well. You'd have much better results if you ate more protein that a single bar a day. AND you need to stop eating what you would normally eat. (ie junkfood, fastfood, etc)

you obviously don't know your shit, ive been weight training and boxing for a few years. and ive talked to lots of trainers and experts. you are NOT supposed to have too much unnatural protein.
I'm not telling you crap, i'm not some 10 year old who doesn't know. Look you can substitute 2 of those shakes with 2 chicken breast or something, fine. But protein is not even nesiasary, its makes getting your daily protein amount to gain muscle easier. The main thing is getting you body weight plus one half in grams of protein daily split up in 5-7 meals. Maybe 30 grams per meal. So if you eating enough prot. which is extremely hard without shakes, then fine. But that won't be the case.
Also the body can only absorb round 40 or 50 grams at a time. So the idea of one big shake with 3 or more scoops is not smart. I could see you at 190 or more lbs. REALLY ! But you need to eat, healthy foods, like you never have before. ALOT!!! And do weight training, one area, like chest, once per week. So 3 or more days at the gym. And sleep 7 plus hours per night. And be consistent. MAIN THING: EAT EAT EAT EAT, AND I PROMISE RESULTS EAT. I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH. healthy like meat,pasta,etc
your right about eating, thats the #1 goal for gaining mass. and substituting shakes with chicken breast is also smart. but too much dry protein isn't good, if not enough carbohydrates are consumed, the protein is converted to glucose, and thats obviously not good. thats why FOOD protein is good, and a shake a day is fine.
If you run out of protein bars and can't afford shakes either, i heard that nuts especially almond have a lot of protein, i guess they could be used as a temporary substitute. Watch for the calories as well, and good luck.
almonds have a lot of calcium, healthy, but not the best nut source of protein. peanuts are the best, 1 spoon full should carry about 6 grams of protein, that's a good intake.

I used to be skinny and if you wanna get ripped 1st u gotta eat all the time and lift the heavier weights so you get bigger, then when your finally at a big size then you can balance your diet and tone your muscles with lighter weights and more repetitions and sets.

ok right best thing i can suggest is eat about 1000-2000 calories more a day then you do now,work out hard on like compresion training rather then isolated training it works more muscles and change the work out every day so it gives your muscles a day or two to heal properly and then re rip and bulk out more.dont forget to do your legs also so many people focus on upper body and end up with skinny legs and big arms which makes you look funny in the end lol ;) keep up the good work

Oh and you have to workout everything. To back and shoulders, to bicep and triceps to chest and abs. Legs arent a nessacry but you should do them. And for the meals dont stuff yourself every 2-3 hours just healthy meals and not to much portions

Yoh i am 17 years old i am 5"9 and weigh 170 pounds and thats muscle not fat but you have to eat every two to three hours and for the first weak do light weights with alot of reps about 15 than next week do heavy weights about 8-10 reps. It took me 1 year cause of school and what not but try what i said

1 protein bar a day isn't going to support you muscle gaining process at all. You need to have at least 5-6 high protein meals every day. Muscles need a constant supply of protein because the body cannot store protein very well. You'd have much better results if you ate more protein that a single bar a day. AND you need to stop eating what you would normally eat. (ie junkfood, fastfood, etc)

Bro take 4 protein shakes a day or 2 shakes 2 scoops each. Plus 2 pbj daily. Water, Carbs,etc. Eat alot and stuff ur face all day cause in 2 months you should gain atleast 6 -8 lbs. but get 2800 calories daily and 160-80 grams of protein daily, no fast food!!! YOU WILL SEE RESULTS!!

I'm not telling you crap, i'm not some 10 year old who doesn't know. Look you can substitute 2 of those shakes with 2 chicken breast or something, fine. But protein is not even nesiasary, its makes getting your daily protein amount to gain muscle easier. The main thing is getting you body weight plus one half in grams of protein daily split up in 5-7 meals. Maybe 30 grams per meal. So if you eating enough prot. which is extremely hard without shakes, then fine. But that won't be the case.

Also the body can only absorb round 40 or 50 grams at a time. So the idea of one big shake with 3 or more scoops is not smart. I could see you at 190 or more lbs. REALLY ! But you need to eat, healthy foods, like you never have before. ALOT!!! And do weight training, one area, like chest, once per week. So 3 or more days at the gym. And sleep 7 plus hours per night. And be consistent. MAIN THING: EAT EAT EAT EAT, AND I PROMISE RESULTS EAT. I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH. healthy like meat,pasta,etc

your right about eating, thats the #1 goal for gaining mass. and substituting shakes with chicken breast is also smart. but too much dry protein isn't good, if not enough carbohydrates are consumed, the protein is converted to glucose, and thats obviously not good. thats why FOOD protein is good, and a shake a day is fine.

If you run out of protein bars and can't afford shakes either, i heard that nuts especially almond have a lot of protein, i guess they could be used as a temporary substitute. Watch for the calories as well, and good luck.

almonds have a lot of calcium, healthy, but not the best nut source of protein. peanuts are the best, 1 spoon full should carry about 6 grams of protein, that's a good intake.

MAN 150 pounds at 16 years old is not bad, your a teenager you naturally grow taller before you bulk up. Im 18 and just starting to put on wiehgt. i shot up about 5 inches in a year and barley gained wieght. So dont worry you dont stop growing till your in your mid 20's

Main number one thing LOTS of fork and spoon curls just get the calories up I dont care if its doughnuts and pizza EAT Train no more then three times Progress and growth is not made in the gym its made out of the gym eating and recovering. Hit it Hard with big basic moves and then GET OUT and eat a person like you needs less training, and LOTS of rest and a good relationship with FOOD.
You can do it, just everyday EVERYDAY eat more and in time it will pay off

im 5'9 n was 137... with a better diet n some self control ive made it up to 183 in about 9 months... Make sure u get a good amount of calories in u... take ur body weight and multiply it by 18... thats how many calories u should get a day... stick to lots of carbs for energy...Chicken eggs wheat bread rice pasta fruits veggies nuts potatoes all great things to eat... and as goofy as it seems... sleep is really important... try to get 8 hours a nite
