I can confirm, Dave, that notator had the best grooving sound ever! I used it for years, even before it was called "notator". The name then was "creator"!
thanks, thanks, thanks! hope this will never end. there is always something to learn or get inspired by. excited about next guest on friday cause it' my birthday! :)
@bonuzzz Well ya prob can't get that by using a Mackie EQ, hehe. Those were very high end natural musical and surgical Eqs. Try that with a run of the mill EQ or a plug in and would sound much more un natural.
More ITL's on analog consoles please. Whether you have one or not, I think its very informative to see how the pros do it the old fashioned way. Great ep as usual. Keep up the good work :-)
Wow and half. This one hit me hard. The summary at the end by Dave (P) of Dave (W) just treating everything uniquely helped me so much. I am a hobbyist with little time to dedicate to music, but when I do I have felt like I was cheating to not 'follow rules'. This was so helpful along with the idea of finding the "core" of the song and building and also not soloing. All very helpful for a musician trying to record and mix my own stuff. Feel like this show moved me far ahead. Thanks a ton all!
very funny...when i laugh with them i notice how intune i am in the confo that i realize...WHAT A NERD i become, Great show as allways, about 5 more shows i think i will be good enough to win a grammy :)
So much great information! I can't thank you enough Dave, Herb, and Drew!

I think a new section, Dear Herb: about Management and business stuff is quite a good idea actually.
