The big drawback of this show was the fact that most amateur and semi-pro bands in the 80s wouldn't have the money to buy any of that gear. It's not like today where you can get modelling and guitar synth technology for a few hundred pounds. I remember paying nearly £200 for a Boss Digital Delay pedal in the 80s. How times have changed.
I used to watch these all the time when they were on TV... This one, however, is enfuriating! - Both Midge and the bass guy TALK about how sensitive the guitars are controlling the synth, or show off using them... but neither of them SHOW US how it sounds, so we just have to take their word for it? Bad teachers! You have to SHOW people how it sounds when they get it wrong, not just tell them about it. ugh!
i'm not lying when I say this show is one of the most important parts of my childhood. thank you so much for putting this episode up! I remember it well...
@jconli1 I agree. I was always fascinated with music technology and I'm also a huge fan of synth era Rush. Seeing this episode again is showing me that my interest in that stuff probably developed from here.
I want all the gear they have.........mmmmmmmmm!!!!

If there is some creepy fetish involving the 80's then this would be its equivalent to porn.
