  • can u actually use an external web cam for mac

  • yeh but the camera that comes with the mac is really poor quality and you can't adjust it without clumsily moving the monitor iv very limited direction

  • Mac spelled backwards: Cam

  • My mac mini dosent have a build in webcam lol :D

  • Yeah....a webcam, which is mirrored.

    Suckass cam....

  • nothing moar then simple marketing

  • Stupid how they make PCs look like they are all for bussisness and macs for people who just want to be creative and chat when macs cost more so logically business people will have macs cuz they make more money

  • I think Microsoft should make these kind of ads against Apple as well.

  • How does a hardware piece have anything to do with an OS, PCs have webcams or not because the company that builds the laptops and desktops decide to put them not because MICROSOFT asked for it... Apple, you really fail at most of you ads...

  • its kinda hard to find a PC based laptop without a built in cam

  • I have a computer with an external webcam. It took me 30 seconds to hook it up and mount it. Then, had I had the disc, it would've only taken me maybe another minute to install it. Besides, PCs can have built in webcam's too (like my brothers laptop).

  • PCs can have Built in Web Cams.........Steve Jobs a retard

  • PC laptops can come with a webcam.......Apple Fail

  • Apple spies on you with their built-n webcam... just putting it out there...

  • but the problem is.... mac's build-in cam is not compatible to many apps, e.g. msn. And the drawback of build-in cams is, you can't move the cam to show the surroundings, for instance, unless you move the whole machine, which is pretty crappy

  • My 2 brothers both own a Vaio laptop. it's Vista and has a built in camera.

  • Yeah...only thing is, 'PC" does not make computers.

  • $3,000 Mac > $500 PC + $20 webcam

    Because it's easier.

  • @ThePrimetech and it's the smarter way :)

  • IT people are the guys who were too dumb for a Computer Science or Computer Engineering major at a decent college... Why else would he use tape?

  • this one is pretty lame, even when it came out, you could get pc monitors with built in webcams like the acer 192 vkt, most pc laptops come with built in webcam. Mac should not have used the hardware form of advertising. Most intelligent people would have realized mac had the monopoly in their hardware market and would charge ridiculous amounts for fixing. PC = choose favourite manufacturer and get it good and cheap

  • @Gerardero the word is most....In comparison to apple whose macs all come with webcams....

  • @Gerardero This ad is about the iMac, not the Macbook. Most desktop computers don't have a built-in webcam, only the iMac.

  • @zafirah12 thats why i made the reference to monitors that also have in built webcams, the acer i mentioned is my uncles monitor and it comes with the in built camera (desktop monitor not laptop)...i am simply talking about mac ads advertising their hardware, which isnt the reason i would get a mac, but i use linux anyway for my comp science

  • That was stupid. PCs also have built in webcams. I, however, prefer external webcams for they're more configurable, and I don't have to send in my computer just to fix my webcam.

  • I remember this one. Cracked me up the first time I saw it. :P

  • WOW. What kind of failure needs tech support to help plugin a webcam!!!!!!

  • Maybe on a PC but Safari is the best on a Mac.

  • All MacBooks have right click. Just put two fingers on the trackpad and click, thats a right click. And iMacs have the Mighty Mouse which has like 4 different clickers.

  • Try this on a mac.

    Open Opera/Firefox.

Tap rightclick + left click to go backwards in the browser.

    Exactly.

  • Try this on a PC.

To uninstall an application, simply drag it to the trash.

    Exactly.

  • Try this on a mac.

Make a third party application that lets you do something that you normally can't.

    Exactly.

  • Try this on a PC.

    Get rid of Internet Exploiter!

    Exactly.

  • Oh you're clever. Internet Exploiter ahhahahahaa.

  • funny how u have to use a third party browser to browse cause IE is so shitty, guess what? I don't! Safari is the greatest browser on earth, I even use it when I use Boot Camp on my Mac.

  • Actually, IE has gotten much better. Also, you do realize that Safari stole all their features from Opera, right?

  • Like I always say, if a company can do it better, then why not improve on someone else's product? I would feel the same about Microsoft but the problem is they cant do it better! They never have and I'm sure never will.

  • >> improve on someone else's product

There's a difference between improvement and taking someone else's ideas and calling them innovative and fresh.

  • google chrome for the efing win

  • uh some pcs have built-in webcams too, its not like its "mac exclusive" or anything..

  • Just get linux.

  • lol if i was pc i would of been like yea,but what happens when yours breaks...

  • @Spywell they your fucked lol

  • @Spywell good idea :-)

  • @Spywell mine gave me blue screen of death in mac its kernal error all i had to do was run OSX on it again and i lost no memory at all and its good as new =]

  • @AbbiCrossBones He was talking about the camera. If your camera breaks on Mac, you have to risk sending it to Apple, then you have no computer for upwards of a month, and if you have no other computer you're pretty much screwed. On a PC, if mine breaks, i just unplug it and send it to whoever made it, not risking my entire computer in anyway

  • "Actually the iMacs have the cameras built right in, it's really cool"

Until the cam breaks and instead of going to Wal-Mart for 20 bucks and getting a new one, you need to take it in to Apple for a few hundred.

  • just get a pc

  • mac sucks pc all the way

  • Mac will not webcam with MSN.

I would think it would with Yahoo.

    It definitely does Skype.

  • PC GOT OWNED!!!!! probly a cheap pc thats why.

  • no way I would want my cam attached to my PC!

  • But still the macs have better ones i think since i use macs at school yay me haha laters

  • lame. some pc-based laptops have built-in cams too.

  • i agree

  • key word...SOME

  • @stevediraddo most

  • @stevediraddo And tons have cameras but no microphones...

  • @stevediraddo but mine doesnt work.

  • @stevediraddo you too?

  • @stevediraddo many pc based monitors (that come with a pc) have hd webcams
