  • pobre cuervo jajajajajja!

  • I clicked on this just to see the bird explode. I saw this whole movie lots of times but for some reason the only part I remember is the bird exploding. :D

  • Love this movie..saw it as a child & have adored it ever since. So adorable!

  • Great movie, except why in the world is Quasimodo included as a "monster"? Did no one read the book?

  • It is a timeless classic! I saw it when I was about 5 and was captivated by it even to this day!!

  • Rankin/Bass Productions are freakin' timeless!! I ♥ MMP!!!

  • How have i never seen this movie?.....dear god.

  • @cstoczyn Alright, it's ok. I sat down and watched it on Netflix the other night. It was pretty rad. Not my favorite one of those movies, but it was still cool. "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" still is number 1 in my book.

  • @fiendclubforever Mine 2

  • Quoth The Raven, "Nevermore!"

  • Happy Halloween!!!!!!

  • Amazing comment gothamchix. That cracked me up!!! x

  • I love the line "Now that I Baron von Frankenstein, master of the secret of creation, have now the mastered the secret of destruction." at 2:59

  • @billjomes and ironically those who were entirely indoctrinated by these so-called "values" became zombies anyway :)

  • mr. hyde looks like gary busey

  • What's that song called?

  • Am I the only one who think this song's suitable for a James Bond theme song?

  • @hugh0221 I can see that. Sounds like that's what they were going for

  • Don't you love the scratched negative "Lightning" at 1:23? film making doesn't need CGI to be fun!

  • Obviously an inspiration for Frankenhole on Cartoon Network.

  • This is a CLASSIC...45 years old and still awesome to watch !!

  • wat the name of the song

  • Luv is movie...classic!!! I even own the DVD :-)

  • There's talk of a remake coming out in 2011 in either animated or live-action version... BUT NOTHING WILL BEAT THE CLASSIC!!!

  • His herp-a-derp face after the explosion gets me every time

  • Thankyouthankyouthankyou!! I've been called crazy by a few people when I mention this movie, and really though I was simply imagining it, but you have proved me right! Thank you so much! You've just made my day!

  • God I use to watch this every year when I was a kid. It is so fun to see this again. It can't be Halloween without Boris Karloff and the gang.

  • I Love the Theme SONG...Sexy Cool Voice!

Excellent Work all the way around!

  • The Invisible Man's invitation is written in invisible ink! :-)

  • @billjomes What sucking up are you referring to? Media pushes the envelope all the time.

  • @JoyceLaKee Well, perhaps the form of TV shows change, but the content of your average mainstream show is consistently normative--always with the family values!

  • King Kong was in this movie! If they did every other monster, they should have done Bowser!

  • The ad about the national debt at the opening of this is not CONGRESS' fault - BLAME THE REPs and Mr BUSH!

  • BORIS KARLOFF VOICE!!!!!!!!

    I GONNA CRY...

That guy was (Still IS) AMAZING!!!

    U.U

  • 2:50 the scene that launched a million animal rights activists

  • This movie creeped my shit as a kid

  • Music sounds like the Pink Panther!

  • sweet...another stop motion animation to add to my collection. lovett!

  • This rules.

  • mend my brothers went to stay with dad every 2nd wkend and he would take us to the video shop after picking us up from mums,we would always choose this video and eventually he got the shits...lol i would still rent it if it was avaliable

  • Use to sit in the evenings and watch ALL of these old great shows on TV. Now all you see is crap! Even TV Land isn't showing the old shows anymore.

  • Rankin-Bass should have done more Halloween-oriented stuff. This is good.

  • is the audio out of synch?

  • Always thought this was called the monsters tea party!! Spent years looking for it,my sister used to rent it out from the video shop everytime i used to vist her...loved it

  • gah they called the mosnter frankenstein!

  • My (Catholic) grammar school had a demerit system to punish naughtiness. At the end of the year, those of us with no demerits got a special treat of some sort. One year our reward was a screening of this movie in the cafeteria, complete with popcorn. This was mid-70s, pre-VCR, so we used one of those big honkin' projectors. Good times! Sometimes it pays to be the good kid!

  • Hey, liberal and conservative...nobody wants to hear either of you cry. Regardless of the reason, this, and many such nuggets, are no longer available for our children to watch during such times as Halloween...that's the crying shame!

  • @01goldg1 Please apologize to everyone for me b/c I was discussing my cultural beliefs on a cultural website about a cultural item (a movie). Since you are a spokesperson for everyone ("no one wants to hear either of you cry"--an amazing ability you have to know EXACTLY what "everyone" wants) I trust you will tell everyone to go fuck themselves. You especially, and your lousy kids crying on Halloween. Have them take a deep look into your tiny mind--that'll scare them.

  • @billjomes I'm sending you a petri dish...enjoy!

  • @01goldg1 Awesome, thanks. I'm sending you a clear plastic bag:

    1. Remove head from ass.

    2. Secure plastic bag over head.

    3. Breathe deeply.

    4. Die, moron, die.

  • Really cute.

  • Great Flick! Used to watch this every year as a kid around Halloween on a Hooray No School Today! break. We didn't have Fall Break. All the classic Monsters on this masterpiece. Characters kids today can't even relate to because of the idiot liberal agenda that says such characters are too violent. Like their sissy agenda has helped violence any. Thanks for the post I love this flick, have it on video and now DVD. Also love and own the classic monster flicks too! Happy Halloween All!!

  • nice way to throw politics into this. fact of the matter is, if it weren't liberal people throughout the history of the world, art like this would never have existed. so, stfu, leave politics out of it you ridiculous conservative dimwit and just enjoy the program.

  • I always thought it was the uptight conservatives that didn't want all the violence! Hmmm...

  • As a kid I loved when they would show this on regular television. What an oldie but goodie. Thanks for this gem of a post.

  • Always loved this one! Bwah ha ha!

  • hey this is great! big post!

  • Another winner! Memories galore! Thanks

  • Mad Monster Party was released in 1967, not 1969.

  • I love the song with ethel ennis on it!

  • For being a kid cartoon this sure has one hell of a soundtrack performed by top performers and all original songs

  • You can say that again, the crap kids watch today can't hold a candle to this - Watch this several times every halloween.

  • Great movie! Thanks so much for posting.

  • Wish this could be uploaded in total, thanks for a great childhood time re visit..:)

  • Boris karloff rules!!!!!R.I.P my brother!!!!

  • I just got this on DVD MacEricG. This is the perfect movie to watch on a lazy Saturday afternoon! Reminds me of the good ol' days! =)

  • classic, this brings back memories.

  • I saw this at a matinee when I was 9. The kid in the audience were so loud I couldn't make out a word of dialogue. Good times!

  • HA! HA! Quoeth the Raven...Nevermore!" I love that!

  • Reminds me of Robot chicken

  • The opening has got a FUNNKEEE BEAT . . .

    love it.

  • Thanks for the video, I´m a fanaic of Harvey Kurtzman

  • What's weird is, in an old HELP! mag that I useta have there was a fumetti which incorporated puppets that weren't EXACTLY like the Frankie & Phyllis (Diller, not Stein*) ones, but I assume were prototypes that Harv wanted to get some extra mileage from... - mnw

    *(gag stolen from Yellow Submarine)

  • Wasnt it Harvey and Jack Davis?
