Just to correct the caption: this video is from 2001-2002. Begin and Petrovicky are Flames.

Iginla is special. Calgary had a weak team 2000-03 - top line of Iggy, Conroy and Savard or Saprykin. Second line would've been Gelinas and Chris Clark... Iggy would be out against checkers/shutdown D the whole time.

After the lockout, Iggy is that he dropped 20 lbs and got faster.

Iggy's special and way less 1D than Ovie. Crosby's a better comparison, except Iggy's tougher. Think Howe or Messier.

Crosby and Malkin get to play together. Iginla didnt get to play with a legit 100 point scorer when he was in his 20's or now in his 30's. Crosby and Malkin get that opportunity every game. Jarome should have got more consideration for the mvp. Ovechkin had a great season but he plays in the weaker conference and the worst division. The NW is one of the toughest divisions to score against. Iginla had 11 or 12 goals in the 10 games against the east that year. He does more the just score goals too, one of the best captains, hits, fights, backchecks. Malkin? he lead hes team for the month crosby was injured, big deal, iginla leads is team the entire year.

Jarome is better than both defensively, better leader, and better overall player. Despite not being able to put up points like Ovechkin and Malkin did, none of those guys are known for fighting, backchecking, etc. Some aspects that are hard to find in a All-Star. I still love watching Malking and Ovy, but Iginla's a true captain.
