My guess is the editing is re-takes. Flub a line and you have to re-take. The timing is because it's one camera and that's a budget thing. Two people doubles your cost. You know this is paid for because they pay for jokes (get paid, write some). Two cameras is more editing and more set design. Remember this is a publicity vehicle for newsbusters and it's been working for them. Plus it's funny. I think the one-person, one-camera thing is fine, but obviously you'd like more production value.

I like her delivery. That's me and obviously not you. I think the issue for you and others who don't like this show is the format. This isn't an extended comedy thing. It's a one-liner show like SNL's Weekend Update. It's really hard. For me at least. Seriously, try writing something that introduces a subject with enough detail and then throw in a twisty punchline. Jon Stewart doesn't do it. Colbert doesn't do it. Most comedy shows don't. It's not an easy format to work in. She's good at it.
