  • Nice!!

    ;-))

  • The music is good, the animation is good, they're just not good together.

  • love sun ra, not an anime guy.

  • 2:17 ----> 2:28 is medication that heals =-))

  • @goodayes Thanks! That's what I was hoping for!

  • Sun Ra will always the the original!

  • So Sun-Ra is actually an alien? No wonder his music is so original. Rock the fuck on beautiful space brother.

  • This composition is amazing! One of my favorites!

  • Sun-Ra is a genius!!!

big up for anyone who loves true music, since decades the music industry has killed good quality music by sacrificing quality and originality for the benefit of the commercial success and have prostituted the artists.

But real music will always find a way up to wide open ears through the underground.

  • That comment is beutifully righteous!!!..

  • ye ye ye ye yeah.

  • I love Sun Ra, but I'm not on the drugs it takes to draw a parallel here.

  • I am! lol

  • I enjoyed it. However, I've always considered Ra's music as heavenbound. Just my opinion.

  • Nice! Better than that other video you did.

  • It's always puzzled me as to why Sun Ra's music was associated with sci-fi concepts and imagery. Outside of his theatrics and out spoken theories, his music always sounded so squarely earthbound.

  • I was inspired to create these videos when I heard 'Rocket Number 9 Take Off For the Planet Venus". The images came from a sci-fi anime, but I was trying to draw the parallels between Sun Ra and Leiji Matsumoto's work - that of space as a metaphor for spiritual advancement.

Also, wasn't "Space Is The Place" a sci-fi movie? (I haven't seen it)

  • Right. But I was refering to Sun Ra's work in general not particularly your film. Maybe it's a generational thing. Great work though! Now, how about some Hancock!!! Peace. ("Space is the Place" is officially out on DVD now, I believe. I have a copy of it, tough I think it's some sort of bootleg.)

  • He had to use earthly musical equipment, style and arrangements to reach the people of earth, or he would have totally lossed us. Sun Ra always complained that the instruments were primitive...hence, we were primitive.

  • @ghostoffelakuti That was a very good point you made.

  • @larrypearce2 Not his freely-improvised pieces, IMO.

  • Genious!!!

    I love it!

    Much love to sun RA

  • This is Great stuff!

  • I love the double and triple takes synced with the horns. I see what you are talking about with the ending too =p

  • You're growing as a director! More Sun Ra!
