I bet the floor of that thing is rotted long gone by now....no vapour barrier under the floor. No pressure treated where the wood contacts the ground.
Further, I didnt see where the interior walls are tied into the floor or roofing system. What keeps the walls from going "snakey" when the ground expands and contracts?
please, forbidden this video here in Italy, because here people are too much idiot to understand these things. Here we manufacture the heads of the people with the wood!
There are 2 different types of log used for log cabin construction "handcrafted" and "milled". In the US the 1st is popular while in Europe the 2nd is the log of choice. We at Logspan sell the "milled" verity because it is quicker to construct, easier to seal and still has a life expectancy of over 40 years. I hope this helps, if you wish more information please see the web page on the back ground of Log Cabins.
We recommend treating the wood with a high quality preservative like Sikkens, Sadolin or Liberon. We can get products that are guaranteed to protect for up to 10 years.

Great Video. I want to do that some day! I know it was a lot of hard work. The video gives off the huge illusion that it's easy.

Where the fun of building a log cabin if you aren't gonna use logs that look like logs? People who live in log cabins like it rough round these parts.
