@RidesLynxyBaby I own a clyde/bel cross and I can get on him from the ground but I don't like to cuz you sretch yourself way to far and the saddle moves to much.
@barrelracergirl12: All breeds of drafthorses have much hair. They need it to protect their legs when they work on the fields or woods. If you let it grow they get a beautiful long tail and mane. If you dock the tails you cut off some tailbones. That's why they dont get a real tail even if you let it grow. In germany it's forbidden.
@heimchen1986 i'm glad it's forbidden here. you can see so clearly that he can't keep away one single fly or mosquito with that thing that is left of his former tail. You can still tie it up to protect it, but cut it off?? no thank you!
you are mistaken. I work with 8 percheron drafts on a daily basis, and only two of them have very little tail (their tails were docked by their previous owner) the rest of them have gorgeous thick manes and tails.
@barrelracergirl12 my clyde has a beautiful tail and his isn't docked but my thoroughbred who docked her tail herself has very little tail left because there's very little bone to grow from.try getting your head out of your ass go to a REAL barn.I don't know why some idiots have to be barrel racers when they don't know shit about horses, same with jumpers

jeez... If I were a horse i would want a tail to keep the flies off! Spray may work for a while but i would still want a tail..

to my limited draft horse experience, the tails are docked so they don't get caught or tangled in the harness
