Ahh back when Macs are the top priority for Apple, now they focused more on iOS devices.

Hell, there are no new Mac commercial anymore.

Actually, this is very good product. Instead of Windows back then, where you had a giant PC case and even bigger CRT monitor, here you have everything in a size of one CRT monitor, maybe even smaller. Apple was very creative back then. Now, just look at a Mac Mini. No CD/DVD disk drive. Mac Pro? Everything else just like a PC, only the box is made out of aluminum, and the machine supports OS X.

iMacs should be considered another type of platform. They're just amazing. APPLE !!! <3

Personally, I prefer the G4's design, but it should have been available in different colors like the original iMac. In addition, the G3 iMac still has a revolutionary design.

Back in the time when the mac really WASN'T just a modified "standard IBM compatible" x86-machine...

Not that the macs are bad today but... but somehow, they just lost their speciality for me. :(

@JackBandicootsBunker Well, the x86 architecture was a step towars standard PCs. You basically have a PC with a modified extensible firmware interface. Okay, Intel is faster but I can get a standard PC and hackintosh it, the I have a mac. Also, the simple design went more and more mainstream. That is what I mean. Macs are not THAT special like they used to be, they went almost mainstream.

@JackBandicootsBunker Techncially, old macs were PowerPC, which was a spin-off of RISC, but still I agree.

There's a very good reason RISC is used in all curent game consoles. It's a flexible, speedy, low=power layout compared to x86 and Athalon.

the best mac ever! lol! i have that exact model, it counted with a 700mhz powerpc g3 processor, it came with a with a 256mb ram, but you could order it with the super amount of 512mb! lol! and it had a dvd player! for that time computer were still using floppy drives!

It was the 2nd generation iMac G3. One of the new features was that it ran without any fans. So that's why you want a computer to be aerodynamic.

i used to have the Bondi blue Imac G3...in hindsight i wish i hadn't thrown it out, although it was really just collecting dust.

the graphite one was the fastest G3 model, right?

At the time, yes. However, it was discontinued after a short run, the Snow white became the top one towards the end in 2001.
