Ok, I'm gonna stand up for the singer because I do vocals on RB myself. First of all, this is a sightread which mean he's never heard this song before. 2nd of all, MOST top vocalists hum to get the scores they have, even though they can sing. Why? Because RB does not like "embellishment" or "style" when it comes to singing, and that in fact can be detrimental to your score. I'm not saying you can't get 100% singing for real, but honestly humming has it legit uses. This would be one of them.

by master they dont mean album version, they mean the actual band is the one that came in or w,e had to be done to record it, so when the bosstones recorded this they alternated it a bit to make it harder.
